मालवण : तालुक्यातील निसर्गरम्य धामापूर गावात असलेल्या धामापूर तलावाला वर्ल्ड हेरिटेज इरिगेशन साईटने पुरस्कृत केले गेले आहे. आतापर्यंत भारतात तेलंगणा राज्यातील दोन साईट्सना ही जागतिक ओळख मिळाली होती. यावर्षी आंध्रप्रदेश मधल्या तीन साईट्स आणि महाराष्ट्रात प्रथमच धामापूर तलावाला हा जागतिक सन्मान मिळाला आहे.आजपर्यंतच्या जगातील ७४ हेरिटेज इरिगेशन स्टूरक्चरमध्ये धामापूर तलावाने हा जागतिक सन्मान मिळवला आहे. जगात सर्वात जास्त अशा हेरिटेज साईट्स जपानमध्ये ३५, पाकिस्तानमध्ये १ श्रीलंकामध्ये २ साईट्स यांना हा जागतिक सन्मान आतापर्यंत मिळाला आहे. स्यमंतक संस्थेतर्फे धामापूर तलावाचे तपशीलवार डॉक्युमेंटेशन सेंट्रल वॉटर कमिशनला सादर केले गेले होते. सिडनी, ऑस्ट्रेलिया येथे ICID च्या ७१ व्या आंतरराष्ट्रीय कार्यकारी परिषदमध्ये धामापूर तलावाला हा सन्मान दिला जाईल. २६ नोव्हेंबर रोजी सकाळी दिल्लीवरून सेंट्रल वॉटर कमिशनच्या एका वरिष्ठ अधिकाऱ्यांनी स्यमंतक संस्थेचे संस्थापक सचिन देसाई यांना फोन करून आणि इमेलद्वारे तलावाबद्दलच्या या सन्मानाची माहिती दिली. प्राचीन धामापुर तलावाचे वैभव अणि संस्कृती संवर्धन अणि संरक्षण करण्यासाठी गेले अनेक वर्ष धामापुर येथील स्थमंतक संस्था "जीवन शिक्षण विद्यापीठ" या उपक्रमातून प्रयत्न करत आहे. त्यासाठी धामापूर गावाची जैविक संपदाचे डॉक्युमेंटेशन आणि त्या संबंधी प्रशासकीय व्यवस्था आणि तज्ज्ञ मंडळी यांच्याशी सातत्याने पाठपुरावा सुरु आहे. आंतरराष्ट्रीय सिंचन आणि ड्रेनेज कमिशन (आयसीआयडी) द्वारे धामापूर तलावाला "वर्ल्ड हेरिटेज इरीगेशन साईट" पुरस्कारासाठी निवड केली गेली आहे. महाराष्ट्र राज्याला हा पुरस्कार पहिल्यांदाच मिळाला आहे. त्यामुळे सिंधुदुर्ग जिल्ह्याचे नाव महाराष्ट्राच्या इतिहासात सुवर्ण अक्षरात नोंदवले जाईल हे नक्की. ही एक सुरवात आहे अशा अनेक गोष्टी या सिंधुदुर्ग जिल्ह्यामध्ये शाश्वत राहणीमान आणि वाईस ट्यूरिझम यासाठी उपयुक्त ठरणार आहे. सिंधुदुर्ग हे एक युनिक ट्यूरिझम गंतव्य स्थान आहे. परंतु आज याची अवस्था ट्रेनच्या जनरल कंपार्टमेंट सारखी झाली आहे. जो तो फक्त पैसे कमावण्यासाठी काहीही कसाही व्यवसाय करत आहे. आपल्या जैविक संपदा, हेरिटेज साईट्स राखून, त्याचा अभ्यासकरून, साधे पण एक उच्च दर्जेचे जीवन आपण सिंधुदुर्ग जिल्ह्यात जगू शकतो आणि हेच आपले पर्यटनाचे USP असू शकते. या गोष्टींची आठवण राहावी आणि आपले हे समृद्ध जीवन अभ्यासायला, अनुभवायला जगभरातून अभ्यासूंनी सिंधुदुर्गमध्ये यावे यासाठी एक छोटेसे पाऊल स्यमंतक तर्फे घेण्यात येत आहे. आणि त्या अनुषंगाने लवकरच "मी धामापूर तलाव बोलत आहे" ही डॉक्युमेंटरी रिलिज केली जाणार आहे. अशी माहिती सचिन...

Perfect place to chill out. The way towards the lake is from Devi Bhagwati Temple. While getting directions, search for Bhagwati Mandir, Dhamapur instead of Dhamapur lake as Google shows wrong destination. When we visited, there was a group of hornbills flying around the trees. This place wasn't much crowded when we visited in December. The lake is covered with lots of greenery from sides. Very relaxing and recommended place to visit with family be cautious if you are visiting with children as I didn't see any guard around.
