Junona Lake, nestled in the Junona region near Chandrapur, Maharashtra, is a charming and often overlooked destination that offers a much-needed respite from the urban hustle. It may not be the largest or most famous lake in the region, but its quiet, serene atmosphere is its most compelling feature, making it a wonderful spot for local residents and day-trippers seeking peace and natural beauty. The lake is primarily a simple, natural body of water, best known for its tranquil environment, especially during the early morning and late evening hours. These are the prime times to visit, as the soft light casts a magical glow over the water, and the air is filled with the calls of various local and migratory birds. For nature lovers and budding photographers, Junona Lake provides excellent opportunities for bird-watching, particularly during the winter months when the feathered visitors arrive. The calm waters often reflect the surrounding trees and sky, creating beautiful, mirror-like scenes perfect for a relaxing stroll along the banks. While the infrastructure surrounding the lake is not overly developed—it maintains a more rustic, local feel—there are typically designated areas suitable for picnics and simply sitting to enjoy the view. Visitors should manage their expectations; those looking for water sports, grand resorts, or highly commercialized attractions may be disappointed. Instead, Junona Lake caters to those who appreciate simplicity—a place where one can meditate, read a book, or spend quality time with family away from the noise of the city. However, a recurring note from visitors is the importance of maintaining the lake's cleanliness. The experience is significantly enhanced when the area is respected and kept free of litter, a responsibility that falls on both local authorities and visitors. The beauty of Junona Lake is fragile and relies on the collective effort to preserve its natural state. In summary, Junona Lake is a modest, yet deeply refreshing local gem. It's a place to slow down, connect with nature, and savor a few moments of quietude. If you are in the Chandrapur area and are looking for a peaceful break from your routine, pack a simple meal, bring a pair of binoculars, and let the gentle beauty of Junona Lake wash over you. It's a simple, soothing retreat well worth the short drive.

Great place for One day trip especially in rainy days when the lake is almost full. The lake is very big in area with lots of trees and jungle surrounded. On your way to Lake from either Chandrapur or Balharshah, you'll get to see wild animals if luck is in your side. It is great picnic spot with many place for taking beautiful pics. Great place for Pre wedding photoshoot. Connectivity :- Almost 10 kms from both Balharshah and Chandrapur. Road is in very fine condition. Time to Visit:- Can visit in any month but June to December are best months to see beauty of the place. Rating:- 8/10

We were here for a Sunday catch. Got a decent 1250 grams Rohu fish. Rates r really reasonable here as compared to Bengali camp fish market. Live fish is a guarantee of every fisherman here. Go on every Sunday before 8 am. U will find many fisherman selling fishes. The lake is huge. Waste management program should have taken place for this village locals as many still dumps garbages in lakes and lake sides.
