The best museum I have ever seen depicting the rural life particularly on all aspects of society and culture, depicting caste system, occupational categories, pattern of livelihood, agriculture and agricultural practices, art and crafts, resources of Livelihood, recreational activities and games, common and daily activities in the village life and so on. Superb museum and my great regards to the great artists showing each model as if they are live and most natural as if they are live. Most impressive museum. Most educative to our younger generation as many of the rural practices and their traditional knowledge is disintegrating now a days. Most impressed by the Goshala and Gurukul and the educational system. My great regards and pranams to the Guruji and the heritage of Kadasiddheshwar Swamijis the who have sacrificed their whole life for development of the Mutt and devoted their life for the betterment of human mankind, bringing awareness in the human society and masses of all castes and creeds. Great regards for their social service in case of natural calamities and other exigencies. Kind regards to every one who are working as most devoted swayam sevaks or Karyakarta in the premises. Well organised and most neat and...

This museum showcases different aspects of Gramjivan (village life). Gram means village and jivanmeans life in the Marathi language. This initiative was the dream of Mahatma Gandhi, and was created through the vision and efforts of Siddhagiri Gurukul Foundation. The history of self-sufficient village life in Maharshtra, before the invasion of the Mughals, is depicted in the form of cement sculptures. Each sculpture is lifelike and represents activities performed in daily village life. There were 12 Balutedars (essentially artisan castes), and 18 Alutedars who provided equipment to carry out domestic and professional tasks. The museum is spread over 7 acres (28,000 m2), and the surrounding countryside is beautiful, with lush greenery. Every aspect of village life has been depicted in almost 80 scenes that showcase more than 300 statues.
