We had stayed in the hotel Sagar Savli Grand during our visit in January 2023. The beach is just across the road from the hotel. You cross the road and after crossing some rough patch of ground you are on the beach. What strikes you is the absence of the crowd We visited the beach, and strolled around, went for a long walk along the beach and let the waves break around our feet. We were the only people on the beach. In the morning it was quite an invigorating experience to repeat yesterday evening's activity and go for a long walk along the beach. Dilip even had a dip in the sea. I would have also loved to do it, but am very susceptible to catching a cold so avoided it. Surprisingly the beach has black sand. When enquired about it at the hotel we were told that large ships, oil tankers etc discharge waste oil in the sea. The discharged oil causes the sand to become black. Clear clean sand did not feel as if it was blackened by the discharged oil. Maybe some other reason for this phenomenon. Wonderful a...
