MIND BLOWING EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE

I visited KARNALA FORT & BIRD SANCTUARY on 31/7/2019 which was actually UNPLANNED as I was on official trip.

I stayed at Hotel located near to Panvel Bus Stand and suddenly decided to visit this place after reading reviews & beautiful pictures posted by others on Google.

I choose to reach at Karnala Fort through LOCAL bus from Panvel Bus Stand going towards PEN and ALIBAUG.

All buses doesn't STOP at Karnala Fort, so kindly catch LOCAL bus only instead of express/non stop buses.

I bought my rubber shoes from one stop near to bus stand & cost of the bus ticket per adult which I paid was only ₹ 15 as on 31/7/2019.

I begun my journey from Panvel Bus Stand by 6.30 am onwards, however other modes of transportation are also available like Auto & Taxis.

Reached at Karnala Fort ticket counter by 7.25 am & I was the first who got ticket on 31/7/2019.

Entry fee (without camera) per person which I paid was ₹35.

NO food and water will be available during trekking & routes aren't so easy to climb for the people whosoever doesn't feel fit & suffering due to cardiac/breathing troubles.

Canteen is available inside fort premise close to main entrance, so water & light refreshments can be enjoyed.

Kids under 10 years age can cause inconvenience while trekking on the fort, so try to leave them at home or hotel.

I personally suggest for Kids whosoever can climb by their own, should only join for trekking.

I had NO bad experience though I was alone & first in the fort for trekking, also didn't see any wild animals which can be harmful for Human being.

Resting huts covered with metal sheets are available at 2-3 location on the way of fort to stay protected against sudden rain/wind.

Cloth changing rooms are also available in free of cost at ground level from where trekking begins but cleanliness may not be satisfactory.

Climber should carry Umbrella, Rubber Shoe, Drinking Water (1 ltr per head), Some snacks as someone may feel hungry & thirsty after reaching at top.

Try meditation for 15 minutes to have an amazing experience of pollution free & chilled air.

ENTIRE FORT IS VERY CLEAN, SO KINDLY DO NOT SPOIL IT BY THROWING PLASTIC BAGS & BOTTLES

I HAVE DECIDED TO VISIT KARNALA FORT AGAIN IN NEAR FUTURE WITHIN 2019.

Based on personal experience, I recommend every fit & nature lover to visit during MONSOON only & also try to start trekking early morning latest by 8 am & before 12 noon.

Trekking time can be around 60-90 minutes for going up which is depending upon physical condition, weather & time being spent for photography by individuals.

NEVER become very hasty while coming down because rock/path may be slippery & our foots may not rest perfectly on the uneven shaped rocks which means GETTING DOWN IS ALSO TO BE DONE VERY CAUTIOUSLY because slight hurry can cause serious injuries to us & skilled doctors may not be available for immediate treatment.

Check condition of the HANDRAIL prior to holding / putting load on it because few HANDRAILS aren't fixed properly means DON'T TRUST ON HANDRAILS BLINDLY.

AT LAST, I WOULD BE VERY HAPPY TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS ABOUT WONDERFUL KARNALA FORT &...

A Trek to Remember – My Experience at Karnala Fort

Last Saturday, I had the opportunity to explore one of Maharashtra’s hidden gems – Karnala Fort. Nestled amidst the lush green hills of the Western Ghats, this fort is a perfect escape from the city's hustle and bustle. It was truly a wonderful experience, filled with adventure, nature, and serenity.

The entry fee was quite affordable – just ₹60 per person, which felt more like a token for the beautiful memories that awaited us. Located near Panvel, the journey to the base of Karnala Fort itself was scenic, with greenery all around and the cool breeze setting the perfect tone for the day.

The trek from the base to the fort is around 3 kilometers, but don’t let the number fool you – it’s a proper trek with steep climbs, rocky patches, and narrow trails, making it a moderate to difficult level trail. It took us around 1.5 to 2 hours to reach the top, depending on breaks and photo stops.

What made the experience even more magical was the thick fog that covered the entire trail. As we climbed higher, the surroundings became more mystical. At times, visibility was barely a few feet, and the fort’s top looked like it was floating in the clouds. The forested trail, combined with the cool, misty atmosphere, felt like we were walking through a movie scene.

The views from the top were absolutely breathtaking. Even though the fog covered most of the distant landscape, the occasional clearing gave us glimpses of the valleys below and the green cover all around. The sense of achievement on reaching the summit, along with the peace that the place offers, made the whole effort worthwhile.

We also spotted some unique birds and heard the soothing sounds of nature throughout. Karnala is also a bird sanctuary, so it’s a treat for nature lovers and bird watchers.

If you’re someone who loves adventure, enjoys nature, and seeks peace away from city life, Karnala Fort is a must-visit. I’d highly recommend this trek to anyone looking for a short one-day getaway. Just make sure to wear good trekking shoes, carry water, and of course, don’t forget your camera – you’ll want to capture...
