Kune Falls, also known as Khandala-Lonavala Falls, is a stunning waterfall nestled in the lush greenery of the Sahyadri mountain range in Maharashtra, India. Situated near the famous hill stations of Khandala and Lonavala, Kune Falls is a popular tourist destination known for its breathtaking beauty and serene ambiance.

The waterfall cascades down from a height of approximately 200 meters (660 feet), making it one of the highest waterfalls in Maharashtra. The water plunges gracefully over three tiers, creating a mesmerizing spectacle amidst the verdant surroundings. The sight of the water gushing down against the backdrop of lush forests and rocky cliffs is truly awe-inspiring, attracting visitors from far and wide.

The name "Kune" is derived from the Kune village located nearby, where the waterfall is situated. The pristine beauty of Kune Falls makes it an ideal spot for nature lovers, photographers, and adventure enthusiasts alike. Visitors can enjoy leisurely walks along the well-maintained pathways leading to the waterfall, soaking in the tranquility of the surroundings and capturing stunning photographs of the cascading water.

During the monsoon season, which typically lasts from June to September, Kune Falls is at its majestic best, with the water flowing vigorously and creating a misty spray in the air. The lush greenery surrounding the waterfall comes alive with vibrant colors, offering a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Apart from admiring the natural beauty of Kune Falls, visitors can also indulge in various adventure activities in the area. Trekking enthusiasts can explore the picturesque trails leading to the waterfall, enjoying panoramic views of the Sahyadri mountains along the way. Picnic spots are available near the waterfall, where visitors can relax, unwind, and enjoy a peaceful meal amidst the serene ambiance. The sound of the cascading water, the cool breeze, and the verdant surroundings create a sense of serenity and calm that is truly rejuvenating.

The trek will be one of the most memorable one in my life. I guess it was totally 13 kms from the kelavali station and it took nearly 4 hrs for us. But it was a very worth option. We explored the things which was expected during the trek. The waterfall was one of the wonderful thing and it gave me a eternal peace for the thing.

After spending nearly 2 hrs there we started towards the Monkey point cabin where there is a possibility of some trains. But due to our bad luck we have to walk for more 2 kms and have to get to the main highway near the Kandala tunnel. From there we took a bus to kopoli station and back to dombivli.

Seriously, a best suggestion you must visit this place, but u should grow in a group with a same mind set of peoples. So u will...

Unique and offbeat waterfalls in khopoli!!! Not all forts and waterfalls near Mumbai are crowded in monsoon season!! And this railway bridge waterfall with amazing views is definitely not one of them. The journey to reach these falls is as beautiful as the destination. Around 3 kms of adventurous trail takes you through meadows, slippery tracks, grasslands, the ‘paanch payari’ which are lot more than 5, water streams, slippery rocky patches, many waterfall views and finally the alluring view of railway bridge passing through a tunnel surrounded by waterfalls falling over cave😍🤩. The scenic trail is definitely capable of giving you adrenaline rush specifically the ‘paanch payari’ part which is very slippery and risky...

As per RPF and local authorities this spot has been ban so this place is not recommended to anyone. Don’t visit there This place is deserve more then 5 star. Best waterfall and location I have seen till date. Now this is my favorite spot. This place is located near Khopoli railway station. In monsoon season this place looks Heaven on earth, you will see mesmerizing and unforgettable scenes views. But for this you need to trek at least 2hr from the forest and hard patches, there is 50mtr rock patch and it’s too much risky. Avoid to go with kids. There is no shops so take 2ltr water bottle, snacks etc. mark my word this will be your favorite place also if visit once.

This trek is steep which makes it moderate for the beginners . It takes nearly one hour to reach the top. You can reach the base by public transport and your private. You have to go straight towards khopoli inside the city and take a left to the KP waterfall, here you will get a DATTA mandir ,here you will see the small banyan tree you have to take the right and you will see the trails , follow the trails and you will reach the top .
