Manas Mandir as name depicts is a jain temple. It is situated near Asangoan, Shahpur on mumbai-nashik highway at drive of 3 hours from mumbai and 1.5 hours from thane. just after Kamat's food court and before reaching Shahpur. You will notice the canopy gate with the welcome message. The place is full of nature trails. Lush green surrounding, beautiful lake, mesmirizing temple at hill and amazing mountain in background. If you are jain this is must place to visit near mumbai/thane. They have bhojanshaal which serve delicious jain food. Since this is temple you would need to take care of certain things before you visit: Your dressing appreance should be good, In most part of property, photography is not allowed, this isn't a picnic, would not suggest for night stay as rooms are small and mosquitos would not let you sleep peacefully. Manas Mandir Complex is a congregation of many temples of Jain Tirthankaras / saints. We visited the place in March which is a bit dry and hot season, but the place would be lush green during wet season, with a small stream / river and a big pond and lot of trees around. The serenity of the place, specially in the temples is something which is to be experienced, irrespective of whether you are a Jain or not. The management also takes lot of efforts to maintain the decor and ensure that this does not become a picnic venue. To conclude - a good place to visit, specially during late or post Monsoon.we have visited this place multiple times. The place is like an oasis off the Thane Nasik Road just before Shahapur. There is a dress code to be followed : no shorts/ bermudas. Keep a dupatta handy just in case anyone objects to sleevelees dress. The temple on top of a hill is absolutely magnificient with marble art everywhere(got to know thats its a replica of another Jain temple of Palitana). Very thoughtfully a strip of POP has been laid along the floors on the outer verandahs, walking around the temple at height of summer can be tough. At the back of the main temple theres a small temple with a wishing tree and a belief of snakes protecting nagamani/ temple / many others. These stories can vary depending on who you here it from. Some info can be checked out in talkingmyth/Dharnendra and padmavati. Theres a gowshala nearby for those who want to visit. For me personally, its always been a place to gather some energy. Very positive vibes ....the beautiful scenery in monsoons are a bonus.....must visit for those who are in mumbai/thane....We get heavenly feeling in the absolute serene environment, surrounded by the beauty of nature and sanctity of temples and saints, The tranquillity of this place would take you to a different level of peace of mind, which is simply inexplicable. There is a neat and clean Dharmashala (May Be For Jain Folks Not Sure) for overnight stay and provision for Jain Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner available. Overall, place is truley heaven and must visit.
