The Pokharbav Shri Siddhivinayak Ganesh Temple's history is rooted in the Pandava period, with the temple's ancient idol discovered in the 18th century during pond (Pokhar) desilting, leading to the name "Pokharbav" (pond well) and a new stone temple built by Bhimjigiri Gosavi, completed around 1770. This temple is known for its unique architectural style, an idol of Ganesha with three trunks and six hands seated on a peacock, and its significance as a masterpiece of the Gosavi sect. Origins Ancient Pedigree: The Pokharbav Ganesh Temple is believed to originate from the Pandava period. Pokharbav Ganesh Mandir 🛕✨ Hidden deep within the lush greenery of Konkan lies a divine spiritual gem — Pokharbav Ganesh Mandir near Devgad. This sacred temple is not just a place of worship, it's an experience of divine energy, natural beauty, and untold history. 🌧️🌿

Just 10 km from Devgad and 40 km from Kankavli, the route itself is a monsoon paradise — winding through emerald landscapes and whispering forests. When we reached, the air felt sacred… peaceful… blessed. 🌬️💫

The Ganesh idol here was discovered in the 1920s during road construction, standing tall amidst rocks, believed to be from the Pandava era. Because of the natural water ponds ('Pokhar') formed by the rocks, the place came to be known as Pokharbav.

Right below the temple lies the Omkareshwar Shiv Mandir, home to a rare Panchamukhi Shivling discovered in 1999 after a divine dream by a village priest. Today, it stands peacefully beside a natural stream — a surreal combination of mystery, history, and spiritual energy. 🔱💧

If you're someone who seeks calm, connection with nature, or a divine moment of stillness — this place will forever stay with you. It’s not just a visit… it’s a memory etched on your soul. 🙏✨

Highly recommended if you're visiting Devgad, Kankavli, or anywhere in Sindhudurg during monsoon. A must-visit divine spot that blends heritage and serenity. 🌧️🕉️
