Rajpuri Caves are believed to have given shelter to Pandavas during their exile. The caves are surrounded by many holy kunds (ponds) which are supposed to get waters of the holy Ganga and hence supposed to cure all kinds of diseases. One of the major attractions of the cave is the Lord Karthikeya temple. At a distance of 7 km from Panchgani Bus Station, Rajpuri Caves are one amongst the most ancient attractions of the Panchgani region. There are four caves and these ancient caves are surrounded by many water kunds. It is believed that these caves were used for penance and religious rituals by Lord Kartikeya. Devotees believe that taking bath in these holy kunds will provide relief from all kinds of diseases and evils. The main attraction of Rajpuri Caves is the Lord Kartikeya Temple, which is supposed to have been built with the sand taken from the caves. Entrance of the cave contains several stone plates with inscriptions on them. Two traditional images of Nandi are located in front of the caves. Out of the two images, one lies right opposite to the entrance to the cave. The thaipooyam festival is the main attraction of this temple which is celebrated in the months of January / February. One of the four caves is placed separate from the others. An old image of Lord Kartikeya can be seen here. Other three caves are linked by underground tunnels. The first cave contains a kund which is constantly filled with water flowing from the mouth of a sacred Gomukh. The approach road is very narrow so one can park their vehicles on the main road and walk into the village. A short walk and a flight of stone steps leads down from an archway to the cave temples. The local grampanchayat needs to take an initiative to beautify the place with help of govt. tourism department so that there will be an increase in tourists thereby adding livelihood to that...

Nestled amidst the serene hills near Pune, Maharashtra, the Rajpuri Caves stand as silent witnesses to centuries of history, spirituality, and architectural marvel. Visiting these ancient rock-cut caves is not just a journey through time but a profound experience that immerses one in the rich tapestry of India's cultural heritage.

As I ventured into the labyrinthine pathways of the Rajpuri Caves, I was immediately struck by the aura of tranquility and reverence that enveloped the surroundings. Carved out of solid rock, these caves exude a sense of timeless elegance, with their intricately sculpted pillars, arches, and chambers bearing testimony to the skill and craftsmanship of ancient artisans.

Each cave within the complex tells its own story, whether it's the sacred shrines dedicated to Hindu deities like Lord Shiva or the serene meditation chambers where seekers of truth would retreat into introspection. The natural formations within the caves, such as stalactites and stalagmites, add to the mystique, evoking a sense of wonder and awe.

Apart from its spiritual significance, the Rajpuri Caves also offer breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, with lush greenery and gentle streams providing a picturesque backdrop for contemplation and relaxation.

However, it's important to note that the caves, while awe-inspiring, require a moderate level of physical fitness to explore fully. Some passages may be narrow or uneven, so sturdy footwear and caution are advised.

In conclusion, a visit to the Rajpuri Caves is not just a sightseeing excursion but a transformative journey for the mind, body, and soul. Whether you're a history enthusiast, a spiritual seeker, or simply a nature lover, these ancient caves offer a truly immersive and unforgettable experience that will leave you in awe of India's...

Rajpuri Caves offer a unique blend of history, mythology, and natural beauty, making it a must-visit if you're in the Panchgani area. It's not your typical tourist attraction, which adds to its charm. Be prepared for a bit of an adventure, as the approach can be a bit tricky, with narrow roads and some walking involved.

What struck me most was the serene atmosphere. The caves themselves are relatively small and simple, but they hold a certain mystique. You can feel the history as you explore the ancient rock formations and the various shrines within. The natural water pools surrounding the caves are believed to have healing properties, adding to the spiritual significance of the place.

It's worth noting that there are some specific customs to be aware of. Women are not allowed inside the main cave, which might be a consideration for some visitors. However, the surrounding area and the other caves are still worth exploring.

The lush greenery and the peaceful surroundings create a tranquil environment, perfect for reflection and connecting with nature. It's a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and immerse yourself in the serene ambiance.

If you're interested in history and mythology, and you're looking for a unique and off-the-beaten-path experience, Rajpuri Caves won't disappoint. Just be sure to do a little research beforehand, be prepared for some walking, and respect the local customs and traditions. It's a place where you can connect with the past and appreciate the simple...

It is most scenic cave very near to Panchgani and the route to the caves is most beautiful during monsoon/ rainy season. I will suggest to take bike ride with your loved ones or friends which will make your visit more wonderful. When you enter the place you can see a nameplate pn entrance as Shree Kartikeya Mandir. Then you have to take some 50 odd steps downwards to reach the caves and when you hit the ground where the caves are situated then you can see very huge caves structure and oldest stone idols of deities like different forms of Mahadev, Ganesh, Kartikeya, Dattatreya and many more. You can see a holy pond in square shape besides that there is an entrance to the caves where different rooms present and each room is converted to a temple to dedicate to Shiv ji, Kartikeya ji, Ganesh ji etc. There are various bigger trees presebt to nurture the place with beauty and serenity. It is not allowed for females to go inside caves. Here the reason I am not aware of but they can visit the place and see the place from outside. Also I am adding the images so you all can check. It is a very good place to visit along with your family. It is combination of nature's creation and man made temple.
