The Rautwadi waterfall is one of the most beautiful sceneries in Maharashtra. Its just 60 kms away from Kolhapur, one can reach here within an hour drive from the city.

The Rautwadi waterfall is one of the most popular and beautiful places near Kolhapur. The place is covered with lush greenery and the cool atmosphere of the place gives it an incredible vibe. The place is deeply relaxing. The waterfall is one of the most iconic ones, the water flowing from almost a 100 meters high, the water like mist covers the whole area. At some points the mist seems like a cloud covering the fall which makes it one of the most beautiful scenes. Those who are looking for a weekend trip away from the rushes of the city would find peace here. The Rautwadi waterfall is the perfect place to spend a day with your family, friends or even alone. The nature is in full swing, the area is covered in green with wild vines and ferns all around. Photography is one of the best things to do here as the nature has done its art and made the place pristine. The area is full of exotic flora and fauna and so sight-seeing is also one of the best options. Even if it's a solo trip out into the woods this place will give you a memorable experience. The place is very good for trekking as the area is covered with hills. The reddish brown backdrop to the waterfall makes it a beautiful contrast from the surrounding.

The hills are a part of the Sahyandri range, which is one of the reasons for the rich flora. The best time to visit the Rautwadi waterfall is during the monsoon when the waterfall will be in full swing. The climate is mostly windy and frequent showers can be expected. The visitors can come here during timings 6:00 AM - 7:00 PM. The pool below the water fall is perfect for swimming. Though swimming during the heavy monsoon is not recommended. There are many caves is the area which can be explored by...

Rautwadi Waterfall, nestled near the village of Rautwadi in the Kolhapur district of Maharashtra, is a hidden gem that offers a refreshing escape into nature. Surrounded by dense forests and lush greenery, the waterfall is at its most majestic during the monsoon season when the water cascades down from the cliffs in full force, creating a breathtaking sight and a soothing sound that fills the air.

The trek to the waterfall is moderately easy, making it accessible even for beginners and families. The route itself is scenic, passing through paddy fields, forested trails, and small streams. For nature enthusiasts and photography lovers, the surroundings provide ample opportunities to capture the unspoiled beauty of the Western Ghats.

One of the best parts about Rautwadi Waterfall is its relatively low crowd density compared to more commercialized spots. This makes it an ideal destination for those seeking peace and solitude. Visitors often enjoy bathing under the waterfall or simply relaxing by the rocks, immersed in the calm atmosphere.

Basic amenities near the site are limited, so it is advisable to carry essentials like water, snacks, and first-aid. Local villagers are friendly and sometimes offer homemade refreshments. There are no formal entry fees, which adds to its appeal for budget travelers.

While Rautwadi may not yet be widely known, it is certainly worth a visit for anyone exploring the natural beauty of Maharashtra. Whether you're a solo traveler, a couple looking for a quiet retreat, or a group of friends seeking adventure, this waterfall promises a memorable experience. However, as with any natural site, responsible tourism is key—leave no litter, respect the environment, and enjoy the serenity that Rautwadi offers.

In short, Rautwadi Waterfall is a pristine, peaceful, and picturesque destination that leaves a...

During our family tour to Malvan, Sindhudurg, on the way to Malvan; we visited ‘Rautwadi Waterfall’. It is located in Olavan of Radhanagari taluka and is around 8 Km away from Radhanagari. This waterfall is easily accessible from main road. This place is surrounded by lush green covers and it offers a picturesque canvas for our eyes. The height of the waterfall is around 100 ft and there is a beautiful walkway to reach to the summit. The surrounding atmosphere was very awesome, when we visited there. We visited this place in November; however Monsoon will be the best time to visit this place because at that time we can experience Nature's beauty, lush green mountains and big waterfall. And hence it’s a great place for a one day trip but only during the rainy season. There are many more attractions nearby this place such as Radhanagari backwaters, Dajipur Wildlife Sanctuary, and...

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rautwadi Waterfall is amazing! It’s a beautiful spot near Radhanagari Dam, with water falling from high up, surrounded by green trees. The short walk to the falls is easy, and the path is nice and clean. Standing near the waterfall feels so refreshing, with cool mist and loud water sounds—perfect for relaxing or taking photos. The hot sweet corn from nearby stalls is so tasty, with just the right spices. It’s the best snack to enjoy while looking at the falls. The Radhanagari Dam with its seven gates is close by, and the calm water and hills are super pretty. The place feels safe, with friendly people and basic facilities like bathrooms. It’s not too crowded, especialy early in the day, which makes it peaceful. If you want a fun day out with nature, yummy corn, and a cool dam nearby, Rautwadi Waterfall is perfect.
