A Shiva-Parvati temple in the 12th century, i.e., a thousand years ago, was found on the Sateri hill, made of solid stone, during the Shilahara empire. The number of Virgals is higher in the villages in the entire area between the temples on the two hills, Sateri Mahadev and Mahe's Bhairavnath temple. This is a sign of the Shilahara empire. Because in the conflict between the Shilaharas and the Yadavs, Virgals were built as memorials (stones) of those who fell in the battle. Hundreds of such monuments are found in the prosperous villages situated on the banks of the rivers Kasari and Bhogavati.

Worth visiting from July to November. There are three temple in this area one is Mahadev mandir at the top, another is Sateri mandir and last one is Nag mandir. They is large parking area near mandir. Inbetween you will experience off roading while driving at some places. If you visit once, you will visit again and again thats for sure. As this place is being famous as hill station lots of visitors are coming to visit and most of them are making the place dirty by throwing their plastic waste. So be a good person and dont through your waste at this beautiful place. Thank you for reading!

Perched atop the hill, the temple basks in the gentle warmth of the setting sun. A cool and refreshing breeze carries the scent of blooming flowers and caresses the skin, bringing a sense of comfort and serenity. The sky is ablaze with colors that reflect off the temple's stone walls, painting the surrounding landscape in a kaleidoscope of warm hues. The tranquility is only interrupted by the soft rustle of leaves and the distant chirping of birds. It's a magical moment, one that invites reflection and contemplation, and where time seems to stand still.

I had the privilege of visiting the Sateri Devi Temple, situated atop a majestic mountain. This temple, dedicated to the goddess Sateri, is a hidden gem surrounded by the beauty of nature. The journey to reach the temple was an adventure in itself, taking me through winding paths in lush forests and alongside glistening streams. As I ascended, the mountain's serene embrace filled me with a sense of awe.

The Sateri Devi Temple itself is a stunning architectural masterpiece. Its design seamlessly integrates with the natural surroundings, a harmonious fusion of human creativity and the mountain's grandeur. The temple's vibrant colors and intricate carvings added to its visual splendor.

Inside, the temple exuded a palpable spiritual aura. Ancient chants echoed through the air, and the warm glow of oil lamps created a mystical ambiance. It was a place for profound tranquility and introspection.

The panoramic view from the temple was breathtaking, as if touching the heavens. Standing there, I marveled at the sprawling landscape below. This experience was humbling, allowing me to appreciate the grandeur of the natural world.

The monks and staff at the Sateri Devi Temple were warm and welcoming, eager to share the temple's history and spiritual significance. Their insights deepened my connection with the temple's cultural and spiritual importance.

In conclusion, my visit to the Sateri Devi Temple was a journey of enrichment, offering a profound spiritual experience and a chance to connect with the awe-inspiring beauty of nature. History of Shri Sateri Mahadev Devasthan Known history of Shri Sateri Mahadev Devasthan dates back to Eighteenth century. However it is believed that Devasthan has many centuries old historical importance. There prevails a story that a regular milk giving cow, stopped giving milk to its owner. After waiting for couple of days, inquisitive owner, guarded a cow and found out a surprising fact. At the current temple place of Shri Mahadev, that time, there was small hillock, surrounded by paddy fields. Hillock was covered with small trees & bushes. Some old houses were also seen at the site. The owner of the cow, saw the cow disappearing in the trees on hillock. He carefully followed the cow and surprised with scene of cow doing milk ABHISHEK on the SHIVALING which was covered with fallen leafs of trees around. Thus from this scene onwards this SWAYAMBHU SHIVALING came into light & people started worshipping at this place. Further in the beginning of the 20th century, peoples in the Kasarwarnem village were severely affected by some unknown disease. At that time VASUDEV MAHARAJ from ZOLAMBE MAHARASHTRA arrived here. He stayed in the Mahadev Mandir. It is believed that with his worship to God Mahadev has had the effect of curing and keeping away the people from this killer disease. The second major Devasthan of the Saunsthan is Shri Sateri Devi. This is the Bara Panchayatan Devasthan, Sthapana of which is done by Naik Gaonkars. It is in the year 1909, Mahajans Naik Gaonkars formerly registered the devasthan...
