Worst Experience at Shanti Sagar Resort, Unsafe and Unhygienic Conditions

I recently stayed at Shanti Sagar Resort, and it was truly the worst experience I’ve ever had. We had booked a villa with a private swimming pool, but it turned out to be a nightmare.

The pool water was extremely dirty and filled with a dangerously high amount of bleach or chlorine almost like chlorine acid. As soon as we entered the pool, our eyes and skin started itching severely. Within minutes, we couldn’t even keep our eyes open. It was extremely painful and alarming.

We immediately called the villa caretaker and asked what chemical was added to the pool. He admitted that too much chlorine was used, and shockingly, they hadn’t even started the pool’s filtration system. We had to call the police to make them take us seriously, and only then did they admit their mistake but still refused to provide any medical help.

We repeatedly asked them to call a doctor or at least help us get some eye drops, as we were in intense pain and could barely see. Instead, they told us to go find a doctor ourselves. The resort is located almost 10 km away from the nearest city, and we couldn’t find any auto rickshaw at that hour. Eventually, I had to walk nearly 5–7 km just to reach a medical store and get the necessary eye drops for all of us.

This level of negligence is completely unacceptable. The resort staff were irresponsible, unhelpful, and lacked even basic concern for our health and safety. I strongly advise others to avoid this place, especially if you value hygiene, proper maintenance, and...

Most 3rd class resort of all time. Not in terms of visitors but their hospitality. Dirty water. Non functional slides with bad design. Weird timings. Staff full of attitude. Estate is really big but totally in dust because of zero maintenance. I have one recommendation to the management that is buy a Big lock for the resort.

------------Response to the owner---------------------- "Crowd is part & parcel of water park" which is what I am pretty much aware of. All Human beings do not think alike. I am not against the crowd as I am part of the crowd. I am against your treatment to the so called "Crowd". By the way the people you refer to as "Crowd" are your "guests" instead. So if its the excessive number which you are referring to that is making this place "Crowded" then you should increasing your tariff to better cater the "Crowd" and offer better facilities. This is not the first time that I have visited a resort on weekend. What I am saying is it is worst treatment for being a guest to any resort that I have visited. I mean look at your poorly neglected entrance garden which is biting dust, look at dirty pools, non functional slides, not so good food and caterer in hurry to close down not bothering to serve guest, dingy unhygienic toilets. Nor will I reserve an entire resort as its not my father's wedding neither will I come on weekdays (as a matter of fact any day) looking at your service. I want to give no star after seeing the so called water park but theirs no option so I had to. First of all it's not even a water park it's dirty green water which obviously wasn't being cleaned on timely basis, the tiles of swimming pool are very dirty and even the water is dirty. There are only like 2 to 3 slides and that's it, there's just one big pool where slides for children and adults are installed together so basically the whole crowd just plays in one big pool together at once. Second of all the changing room 🤮 it's soo dirty and very unhygienic, people go and pee in the changing room instead of using the toilets that is already provided and in some changing rooms shower was not their or shower was intentionally broken. I genuinely request no one to go there, the place is an actual trash. And their was a very bad smell coming from the wave pool as it is not being cleaned. The area around the pool was mud which was getting dissolved in water when one person used to go into the pool after stepping in the mud i.e no tiling was there around the pool so that the feets don't get dirty, a basic hygiene should be maintained which was highly missing out. Again, DON'T GO. And you may also think that it's just 300 but in traveling and all you will spend is 700 above.
