Shivling Point in Matheran is one of the lesser-known yet strikingly beautiful viewpoints that truly deserves more attention. Tucked away from the bustling parts of the hill station, this point offers a unique and almost spiritual natural formation resembling a Shivling, from which it gets its name. Surrounded by dense forest and dramatic cliffs, the atmosphere here is serene, making it ideal for nature lovers, photographers, and those seeking peaceful solitude.

The view from Shivling Point is stunning—especially during the monsoon season when the valley below is wrapped in thick mist and vibrant greenery. You can hear the distant roar of waterfalls and feel the cool breeze brush past as you stand on the edge of this viewpoint. It’s not as crowded as places like Echo Point or Charlotte Lake, which adds to its untouched charm.

Reaching Shivling Point involves a bit of trekking through narrow forest paths, so it’s advisable to wear proper footwear and carry essentials like water and snacks. A local guide or horse ride can be helpful, especially for first-time visitors.

Whether you're a devotee seeking a spiritual vibe or just a traveler looking for an offbeat view, Shivling Point is a rewarding stop in Matheran’s natural landscape. Highly recommended for those who appreciate the raw beauty of...

Shivling Point in Lonavala is a scenic spot known for its beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The natural landscape here is stunning, making it a potentially great spot for nature lovers and photographers. However, the area is unfortunately poorly maintained, with significant littering issues. Visitors often leave behind trash, including plastic bottles and other waste, and broken glass can be found scattered around, posing a hazard for people, especially children, walking barefoot or in sandals. These maintenance issues spoil the otherwise serene and scenic environment, making it difficult to fully enjoy the natural beauty. While Shivling Point has a lot of potential as a peaceful viewpoint, the lack of cleanliness and basic upkeep is disappointing. If you plan to visit, wear closed-toe shoes for safety and consider bringing a bag to help pick up some trash if you’re inclined. Local authorities or visitors keeping the area cleaner would make a big difference, allowing everyone to appreciate this place's natural charm. Shivling Point is worth a visit, but be prepared for a less-than-pristine experience due to the littering problem.

Also on weekends...

Shivling Point in Lonavala

Nilesh Panchal Tell me about shivling point in lonavla

Shivling Point is a popular tourist destination located in Lonavala, which is a hill station located in the state of Maharashtra, India. It is a natural rock formation that resembles a shivling, which is a representation of Lord Shiva in Hinduism.

The Shivling Point is located near the famous Bushi Dam and is a popular spot for trekkers and nature enthusiasts. It is also a great place to enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and hills.

To reach the Shivling Point, visitors need to trek through a steep and rocky trail. The trek is quite challenging, but the stunning views from the top make it all worth it. It is advisable to wear comfortable and sturdy footwear while trekking.

The best time to visit Shivling Point is during the monsoon season when the surroundings are lush green and the waterfall near the point is in full flow. The weather can be unpredictable during this season, so it is advisable to check the weather forecast before planning a trip.

Overall, Shivling Point is a must-visit destination for nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts...

My early morning visit to Shivling Point was absolutely refreshing. With the cool, crisp air and a slight wind, the weather was perfect for enjoying the serene atmosphere. I had a simple but satisfying breakfast of tea and Maggi, which added to the cozy feeling of the morning. There’s something about a hot cup of tea and Maggi in the cold that makes the experience even more enjoyable. The view from the top was breathtaking. The sky and mountains looked amazing, with the early morning light casting a soft glow over the landscape. It felt peaceful, especially because it wasn’t crowded, which is surprising for a Sunday morning. The calmness and quiet made it an ideal spot to take in the natural beauty without any distractions. Overall, Shivling Point is a great place to visit, especially early in the day when it’s quieter. The combination of the cool wind, scenic views, and the simple pleasure of tea and Maggi made for a perfect start to the day. Highly recommended for those looking for a peaceful escape with stunning views!

As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, I don't have specific information about a location known as "Shivling Points" that is widely recognized or associated with a particular place. It's possible that this could be a local or colloquial name for a specific viewpoint or area that has been established after my last update. If "Shivling Points" is a new or lesser-known location, I recommend checking local sources, tourism websites, or contacting local authorities for the most accurate and up-to-date information about its features, location, and any amenities it may offer. If you have additional context or details about the region or context where "Shivling Points" is located, providing more information could help in offering more relevant details.

I was absolutely unaware of this place. I just halted here for a while but after getting down from my car I found it is very calm and beautiful place. Although I visited in the month of March I could imagine its beauty during monsoon. Luckily I visited here on the day when there had been showers of rain 🌧️ just few hours ago. Surprisingly the wind was very gusty and cool. I was found difficult to stand properly because of heavy winds. Although it was noon, I spend almost 45 mins here to feel this beautiful place and scenic view. I would certainly visit here again during monsoon. Beware of scattered pieces of glass everywhere around the place which might be done by some nuisance people.
