Deities in Hinduism are referred to as Deva (masculine) and Devi (feminine).4446] The root of these terms mean "heavenly, divine, anything of excellence".[47] According to Douglas Harper, the etymological roots of Deva mean "a shining one," from *div- "to shine," and it is a cognate with Greek dios "divine" and Zeus, and Latin deus (Old Latin deivos).[48]

In the earliest Vedic literature, all supernatural beings are called Asuras.[49 By the late Vedic period (~500 BC), benevolent supernatural beings are referred to as Deva-Asuras. In post-Vedic texts, such as the Puranas and the Itihasas of Hinduism, the Devas represent the good, and the Asuras the bad.3 In some medieval Indian literature, Devas are also referred to as Suras and contrasted with their equally powerful, but malevolent half-brothers referred to as the Asuras.51]

Hindu pantheon is part of Indian mythology, both Bhataras and Bhataris and Devas and Devis feature in one of many cosmological theories in Hinduism.[52

Nice divine place Visiting this place from the days of childhood.

One can get down at chimthane phata (22km) from NH3 songir diversion.

Earlier one have to literally climb through the hills to reach the temple now with the increasing devotee count, The trust is building an state of the art facility.

A must visit for all. One feels very fulfilling post visit. The premises in-house the temple of lord Pedoba (brother of goddess Pedkai) on the first level while the temple of goddess Pedkai is on highest level.

I went to Pedkai Mata Temple for the first time.. It was very nice to see the temple premises... and the good thing is that it is just a few minutes away from Madir Road. It is a very good method which means that people from children to old people can reach the top very comfortably. When you reach the top and take darshan of the Goddess, your mind feels very happy..! On reaching the top, a beautiful picture of nature can be seen from above... You must also visit this temple once. It is a very beautiful temple. I would love to go if I still get the chance! || Devi Pedkai...

This place is very Holy and many pilgrims come here daily to seek the blessings of Pedkai Mata and it’s a natural picnic outing as well for the family as I saw many people coming with Families and cooking their own meal as well as enjoying the surrounding. Do visit this place once in a while so that you can see how the Temple is structured between the mountains.

This holy place located near to the Chimthane village. The best thing about the temple is planning and construction of the temple. It has been designed very beautifully without disturbing the nature or natural beauty of the hill. The beams and slabs has been constructed in such way that it seems to be a part of hill rock... Marvelous !!!
