A Divine Beginning at Thappa Duram – A Must-Visit for Every Sai Devotee 🙏✨
I recently had the divine blessing of visiting Shri Shirdi Saibaba Thappa Duram Temple, located near Kopargaon, Maharashtra. Though this wasn’t my first visit, I felt strongly inspired to share this experience — especially for those who are true devotees of Shirdi Sai Baba.
This sacred temple is not just another stop — it is a spiritual starting point. Every Sai devotee must know the importance of this divine place. Before proceeding to Shirdi for Baba's darshan, all devotees should stop here for the first darshanam. If you’re coming by cab or taxi, I humbly urge you to request the driver to stop at this temple before heading to the main shrine in Shirdi. It is not just a visit — it is a spiritual duty for all Baba bhaktas.
This temple is lovingly called "Thappa Duram", which in local terms implies Baba giving his "approval" (thappa) before entering Shirdi. The temple offers a peaceful and vibrant aura that fills the soul with devotion.
🛁 Important Note: A traditional bath is recommended before entering this temple, as the place is associated with Dhuli Darshan — receiving Baba’s blessings amidst the dust of devotion and humility, symbolic of surrendering one's ego.
🕉️ Historical and Spiritual Significance:
This temple holds a deep-rooted connection with Shirdi Sai Baba's divine leelas (miracles). According to many Sai charitras and local traditions, Baba's spiritual energy and blessings are said to guide devotees from this very place before they reach Shirdi. It's believed that visiting this temple first cleanses the mind and prepares the soul for the powerful darshan at the Samadhi Mandir in Shirdi.
Devotees and locals believe that Sai Baba, during his physical presence, had spiritual links with this region and that this temple marks a 'threshold' of surrender and divine entry. It is often said among bhaktas, “Without Baba’s thappa (seal of approval), no darshan is complete.”
🌿 If you're planning a pilgrimage to Shirdi, do not miss this divine stop. Let your journey begin with humility, blessings, and a heart full of devotion at Shri Shirdi Saibaba Thappa Duram Temple.
🛕 May Baba bless all with Shraddha (faith) and Saburi...
