सोलापुरात तब्बल 108 फूट उंचीचे शिवलिंग वीरतपस्वी मंदिर परिसरात आहे.भगवान शिवाची पूजा लिंगरूपात केली जाते. प्रत्येक गाव आणि शहरात महादेवाचे एक तरी मंदिर असतेच. सोलापुरात ९०० वर्षांपूर्वी शिवयोगी सिद्धरामांनी ६८ लिंगांची स्थापना केली होती. अलीकडच्या काळात अक्कलकोट रस्त्यावरील श्री वीरतपस्वी चन्नवीर शिवाचार्य शिक्षण संकुलात १०८ फूट उंच शिवलिंग आकारास येत आहे. लिंगैक्य श्री तपारेत्नं योगीराजेंद्र शिवाचार्य महास्वामीजी यांच्या संकल्पपूर्तीसाठी या शिवलिंग निर्मितीचे कार्य सध्या युद्धपातळीवर सुरू आहे. २३ मार्च २०१८ पूर्वी याचे निर्माण कार्य पूर्ण होणार असल्याची माहिती बृहन्मठ होटगीचे उत्तराधिकारी डॉ. श्री. मल्लिकार्जुन शिवाचार्य महास्वामीजी यांनी दिली. सर्वात मोठे शिवलिंग छत्तीसगडच्या गरीयाबंद जिल्ह्यात भूतेश्वरनाथ हे आहे. निसर्गतः तयार झालेले हे शिवलिंग जगातील सर्वात मोठे शिवलिंग आहे. हे जमिनीपासून जवळपास १८ फूट उंच आणि २० फूट गोलाकार आहे. परंतु सोलापुरात तयार होत असलेले मानवनिर्मित शिवलिंग हे १०८ फूट उंच असून ३६ फूट व्यास आहे. वीरतपस्वी मंदिराचे श्री गोपूर १०८ फूट उंच आहे. तसेच मंदिराच्या तळघरात ३ हजार आसनक्षमतेचे ध्यान-मंदिर आहे. नव्याने होत असलेल्या शिवलिंगाच्या वरच्या बाजूस श्रीशैल पीठाचे आद्य जगद््गुरू पंडिताराध्य शिवाचार्य महास्वामीजी यांचे लिंगोद्भव मुख असणार आहे. तसेच भोवतालच्या परिसरात १००८ शिवलिंग स्थापित करण्यात येणार आहे. शिवलिंगास वेटोळे घातलेल्या सर्पाच्या शरीरात प्रवेश करून प्रदक्षिणा घालत दर्शन घेता येईल...
