A ghat with natural beauty of lush green forests and waterfalls flowing down the hills !!! Jul 2024 • Friends The tamhini ghat, over the years, has become one of the favorite places for all nature lovers. A big reason for the same is the winding roads and the abundant lush green carpet of bushes and shrubs, especially during the rainy season, all adding to the region's natural beauty.
This tamhini ghat viewpoint is one of the many located on the route. Still, this one shows the best view of the entire valley and the waterfalls flowing all across the surrounding hills. One prominent waterfall is located straight across from the viewpoint and is one of the biggest I have seen. The sheer force of the waterfall can be felt till the viewpoint itself. Also, though people would generally be focused only on one waterfall, you can see that there are tons or even bigger ones falling down...

Read moreTamhini Ghat, nestled in the Sahyadri range of Maharashtra, is a verdant paradise that truly comes alive during the monsoon season. Located approximately 50 kilometers from Pune, it offers a refreshing escape from the city's hustle and bustle, making it a popular destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. The journey through Tamhini Ghat itself is an experience. The winding roads, often shrouded in mist, are flanked by dense forests, cascading waterfalls, and vibrant greenery. The air is crisp and clean, carrying the earthy scent of rain-soaked soil. It's a photographer's delight, with countless opportunities to capture breathtaking landscapes. One of the major draws of Tamhini is its numerous waterfalls. From roaring torrents to gentle streams, these waterfalls gush down the rocky cliffs, creating spectacular sights and sounds. Many visitors enjoy stopping by these falls to dip their feet in the cool water or simply revel in the natural beauty. Beyond the waterfalls, the region offers opportunities for trekking and hiking. There are several trails that lead to hidden viewpoints, offering panoramic vistas of the surrounding valleys and hills. For those seeking a more relaxed experience, there are plenty of spots to simply pull over, enjoy a picnic, and soak in the tranquility. While the monsoon transforms Tamhini into a lush wonderland, it's advisable to drive carefully due to slippery roads and reduced visibility. Basic amenities like small eateries are available, but it's wise to carry your own snacks and water. In essence, Tamhini Ghat is more than just a road; it's a sensory journey that rejuvenates the mind and spirit. Its raw, untouched beauty is a testament to nature's grandeur, making it a must-visit destination for anyone looking to reconnect with the outdoors, especially during the glorious...
