How to reach: For people travelling from Trivandrum side of Kerala can come to Vellarada first and then travel to Netta/Chittar Dam. Those who are travelling from Kanyakumari district can travel Kaliyal and from there deviate to Netta/Chittar Dam. Other Nearby Locations: Thirparappu Water Falls (3 km) Kurisumala (5 km) Neyyar Wildlife Sanctuary (20 km)

Oh a beautiful spot! This is more of a "ride and rejoice" place than a place to get down, spend time and enjoy. More of enjoying the journey than the destination. You could park here and there and take in the view. Don't expect a "spot" to get down and spend some hours there. Also, try to get there by sunrise and leave before the sun sets in as it could get unbearably hot, especially during summer. There are a lot of homely meals spot available on the way and could give it a try. It could be a hit-and-miss but 7/10, you'll get good food. The beauty of the place is mesmerizing and is worth a visit. Ride a bike to enjoy the experience more.

Pros: It's a peaceful and quiet spot. Great for a relaxed drive or a short break to enjoy nature.

Driving around the dam offers lovely views of the surrounding scenery and the roads are good

You can view the dam from various spots along the road but there are two or three spots where you can reach near water(Safety is priority)

You can take some good photos of the landscape and water views. Better for a quick visit.

The main and foremost highlight of this place is the delicious food, particularly Kappa/Kelangu and Meen Curry (Tapioca and Dam Fish Curry)😋. While leaving after enjoying the view, make sure to visit a local hotel and try these dishes; it's a must!

Cons: For safety reasons, it's not recommended to bath or swim into the water. You can chit-chat near the bay with friends, families or whomever by enjoying the view

Apart from the view, not having enough activities. Generally, people spend around 30 minutes to an hour. That's all.

Parking slots are not available, so park your vehicle safely off the road without disturbing...
