Catch the green Aravali hills tapering off at Delhi, after meandering through some 1000+ kilometres -- all the way down from Gujarat. Entrances to this part of Delhi's Ridge are many. We took a July 2017 Sunday morning hike, starting from the monkeys (very much visible but not menacing) and peacocks (only heard their raucious kewwwonnn calls) infested lane opposite Malcha Marg just across Rashtrapati Bhawan. Then there's another entry from Talkatora near Parliament. In fact, Delhi is dotted with points of access -- right from Dhaula Kuan (which cuts off the Gurgaon - Palam portion of the Ridge) to the Old Rajendra Nagar / Pusa Road end. In the midst of this green vista is the Ridge Road of yore, Hidden amidst Vilayati Kikar and regional forest grove is the mysterious Malcha Hunting Lodge built by the Tughlaks some 700 years ago -- refuge of the equally mysterious occupants (since the early 1970s), said to be the last of Oudh / Awadh Nawabs!

South-Central Ridge Forest in Delhi is a hidden gem for nature lovers and adventure seekers. This lush green forest offers peaceful walking trails, fresh air, and a break from city life. Home to diverse flora and fauna, it's perfect for birdwatching, photography, and short hikes. The forest feels untouched and serene, making it ideal for a quiet escape. However, itтАЩs best to visit during daylight hours and in groups for safety. A must-visit for those who love nature and want to explore DelhiтАЩs green side!

"I recently explored South of Central Ridge Forest, and it was a serene escape within the heart of Delhi. The lush greenery, diverse flora, and soothing trails make it a perfect retreat from the city hustle. The biodiversity is impressive, and the peaceful ambiance is a welcome respite. Whether you're a nature enthusiast or just seeking a tranquil getaway, this hidden gem is worth a visit!"

This place is one of the two ridges in Delhi. Here you will find old trees & such large amount of protected forest that they are called Lungs of Delhi. The ridge is a fanous outing sight for trekkers & joggers who want to get for a jog or run. Beware of monkeys here kindly don't try to irritate the animals if you go past them without any hoot or silently they are harmless just don't try to shout or point at them. Great place for nature lovers. Nearby is Kamla Nagar whete you can find all the delicacies ranging from Indian to western food also. Avoid this place in the noght as there are not a lot of people around at that time. Else it is a safer place because of regular PCR round ups & it being nearby North Campus of...
