North Bay island is an island which is famous for its coral sightings and water activities. The island can be reached by ferry service from Port Blair which takes about 15 minutes to reach. Need to take the tickets for these activities at Port Blair itself.Apparently, the light house seen at the back of a 20 Rupee Indian note is from the the North Bay Island.. The beach itself isn't so much of a relaxation beach but you can do some under water activity here like snorkeling, scuba diving, sea walking, glass bottom boat ride, semi-submarine ride etc.
You gotta try scuba diving here!!!! The divers are professionally trained, they take you till 11m deep ocean, where you can see all the ornamental fishes, corals, mossess so n so... you have many things to see.. its kind explore a new world.. you don't need to know swimming for it. Its suitable for age 7-70, not for people with health ailments. They will take a photographer with us and capture all your underwater moments... Its a one time in a life experience.. For scuba diving its INR 3500 per person..
Scuba and sea walking are subject to health and fitness of a person whereas snorkeling can be done by anyone. It is recommended to carry swimming trunk and costume for any of these activities, however trunks are available on rent. Lockers and changing rooms are provided. Underwater photography is complementary with any of these activities and photos can be collected via CD..
Some surface activity such as dolphin boat ride, in my opinion, don't do this, you'll only waste your money.. I suggest if you want you can go for glass bottom as it is cheaper and better.. Aclear sky day as colourful corals can be sighted with ease.. this place have one of the most beautiful colourful coral reef in the world.. We can see underwater sea very clearly as the water is very clear. Can see lot jelly fish here. We can see different types of coral reefs, a treat to eyes..
Amazing island with an beautiful view n wonder landscape. Best place for photography.. The water is very very clean, but you get to spent very less time based on your ferry timings.. You can have lunch in this island and Food items are too tasty with an economic costs. Best place to be in Andaman. Do not miss this place.. If you want to experience an adventurous holiday... go for andamans.. its a living paradise.. you will definitely love to plan a...

Read moreThis island is well-known for its water sports (scuba, sea walk, snorkeling, semi-submarine, dolphin boat, etc.). In addition to its many water attractions, the island's verdant surroundings and expansive views contribute to its allure by offering a scenic setting for leisure and discovery. It is about 20KM from Port Blair, where it can be reached by boat. Tickets may be purchased directly from North Bay Island or through the booking agent at the Jetty Dock. The tickets seem a little costly to me. You have two to three hours to do the tasks. The agent will refund the money if you are unable to (you should have the tickets). I would advise purchasing the tickets on the island.
I tried kayaking, snorkeling, and semi-submarine ride.
Semi-submarine: This is the best option if you are with children or tweens. Though not perfectly clear, the glasses are nonetheless enjoyable.
Snorkeling: An amazing underwater world is created by the striking coral formations and the rainbow of marine life, providing a wonderful snorkeling experience. The staff members will personally send a guide and take care of you. later i attempted snorkeling at Elephant Beach, but I was only able to see a variety of species in North Bay. At the same time the water at Elephant Beach is perfectly clean.
Kayaking: Just amazing... I've never gone sea kayaking with my family.
Pros: Payment accepted via Gpay, phonepay and etc.. dress changing facility/toilet. Small restaurants and shops are available paid locker for your belongings. paid water suits are available
Cons: Dress changing room/toilets are not clean or some of them don't have...
