Khunteswari Temple — Attraction in Odisha

This is located very close to the main entry point of Sorada dam. However the road is steep, so drive carefully. There is a nice parking bay as you reach the top, and it's clean and tidy (newly made, and still more works are going on). There is the old temple, right beside the parking area. Which is kind of shallow stepped walk to the main temple. There is a new temple coming up a bit further up from the parking lot (a small step has been made to aid a bit). There is also a watch tower newly made. The new temple being constructed is quite alluring and beautiful. Once the development works finish, this will surely push this place up in the list...

Shakti peetha where maa khunteswari worshiped. Interesting thing is around the temple you can see coins permanently sticked but not sure the reason behind it.

We stayed in the guest house at the hill top over night place is very quite and nice. Per night stay cost per room is 1000 rupees.

Best place for picnic and one day outing. Also you can enjoy surreal beauty of mountains and surada dam.

Nice place to visit. Its under reconstruction. Its on a hill top, so the road to it is very adventurous. A very good picnic spot. The surada dam can b viewed from here and its very beautiful view. The temple is very calm and quiet, with very good views. Nice place for spending sometime in calmness. U can arrange marriages here, as there is a kalyan mandap built in its premises with separate rooms for bride and groom. Its really hot in summer so better to go in winter seasons.
