It's one the ancient sakti as well as tantrik pitha of odisha. It's called ParsuramPitha. As per the epic when parsuram killed his own mother by the order of his father jamadagni hehe weapon he used that's called parsu/ katara.... after killing his mother his weapon didn't get out his hand .... when he reached this place the weapon fell down from his hand. He then worshiped Maa Bhattarika. After that he went charchika, banki worshiped there and then he went to Maa sarala pitha jhankada... all 3 pitha's are called pastrami pitha....

The main festival is Dushara. Mainly Astami jatra is famous. Bali rituals was there but it has been stopped here.

Apart from temple the place is habitat of many birds very rare species like Indian skimmer, River tern.... but neither odisha tourism nor odisha wildlife department did not pay attention to this this if the Government make a plan it will be a great place for both spiritual people and as well as birders and bird...

Situated in the bank of river Mahanadi is another famous Shaktipith of Odisha, Maa Bhattarika. The temple complex is just on the bank of river Mahanadi. Hence during flood the temple get submerged in flood water. There is a parking lot available just outside temple. The place is beautiful overlooking the vast Mahanadi water at one side and a hill on the other side Now some beautification job has been done in the temple premises. Some other temples has been recovered there If you climb the hill next to the temple, you will get a nice view from the hill top of river Mahanadi 3,4 small temples are there which is quite old. Beautiful craving are there in these small temples. You can have a boat ride to the river Mahanadi also At last people says maa fulfil the wishes of her devotees so a lot of people come there daily. The temple is not too much crowded in normal days and you can have a nice darshan.
