Rani Sati Mandir at Birmitrapur in Sundargarh district of Odisha is one of the most prominent temples of the region. Built in 1967 and renovated in later years, the temple is often called the “second Jhunjhun Dham of India” and holds great cultural and spiritual significance. Spread over a large campus, the temple is entirely made of white marble and crowned with a golden finial, giving it a palace-like appearance. Inside and outside, the walls are decorated with fine paintings, silver work, and artistic sculptures which add to its divine atmosphere.

The temple complex is not limited to the main shrine of Rani Sati Ji. It also houses temples dedicated to Sita Ram, Lord Ganesh, Lord Hanuman, and Lord Shiva, allowing devotees to worship at multiple shrines in one place. The campus has two beautiful gardens, one of which features a striking Shiva statue, providing a peaceful and relaxing environment for visitors. The temple is especially vibrant during Bhadra Amavasya, when devotees gather in large numbers to participate in special pujas, bhajans, and distribution of prasād. Affordable meals are also served daily, making it convenient for pilgrims.

Pros of visiting include its grand architecture, spiritual ambiance, clean surroundings, multiple shrines, and festive celebrations. The gardens and calm environment make it ideal for meditation and family visits.

However, there are some cons such as the dusty approach road, lack of dedicated parking, and restrictions on photography inside the temple. Despite these minor issues, Rani Sati Mandir remains a must-visit destination for both devotees...

Beautiful Mandir 1hr from Rourkela. Your family will love it and also Prasad is really great. Currently they are serving for 70/- and that too unlimited. You have to call in advance to book Prasad. As per my current experience, if you coming darshan and Prasad at afternoon. Better to come around 10am. Have darshan and visit this beautiful place and then have Prasad at 12noon. Then, you can leave as till 4pm you can only seat inside and can't do anything else. Access to garden is also not there. Must visit this place with your family 😁
