The architecture of the temple is very beautiful and it is quite similar to Prem Mandir of Mathura Vrindawan but small. It is a very peaceful place to just sit and relax for sometime. You can bring your family here for a nice visit.

Shri Swaminarayan Mandir is located on the Khandwa road and it is on left side of the main road when you are travelling from Indore to Omkareshwar. No need to plan separately, you can take halt here when you are planning your visit to Omkareshwar. This temple construction was just completed in 14 months at expense of 20 Crore which is constructed in one acre area. The Main temple contains three main shrines. Ideal of Shri Laxmi Narayan Dev is in center. Idols of Rada Krishna accompanied with Swaminarayan in the form of Shri Hari Krishna Maharaj installed on the Right and on the left of the central idol, Shri Vasudeva, Shri Dharma pita and Bhakti Mata are installed.

Temple Timings: Morning 07:30-12:00 and Evening 03:30-09:00

Swaminarayan was born Ghanshyam Pande in Chhapaiya, Uttar Pradesh, India in 1781. In 1792, he began a 7-year pilgrimage across India at the age of 11 years, adopting the name Nilkanth Varni. During this journey, he did welfare activities and after 9 years and 11 months of this journey, he settled in the modern-day Indian state of Gujarat around 1799. In 1800, he was initiated into the Uddhav sampradaya by his guru, Swami Ramanand, and was given the name Sahajanand Swami. In 1802, his guru handed over the leadership of the Uddhav Sampraday to him before his death. Sahajanand Swami held a gathering and taught the Swaminarayan Mantra. From this point onwards, he was known as Swaminarayan. The Uddhav Sampraday became known as the...
