P ushpa Gujral Science City is a science museum that is true to its name. The museum has so many things to explore, it feels like a little science-themed city. The exhibits at the Science City are too numerous to name, covering everything from life sciences to transportation science to the science of sports. The museum isn’t just limited to static galleries. There are multiple theaters offering shows where you can learn about science in unique and often interactive ways. There are so many unique and exciting exhibits and shows at the Science City that you might forget you’re even at a science museum, you’ll be having too much fun. To help you plan your visit, here is a detailed guide to Pushpa Gujral Science City, Jalandhar, India. Museum galleries: Pushpa Gujral Science City has a number of galleries that cover many different kinds of science. In space and aviation gallery, learn about the exploration of the sky and solar system and the celestial bodies out in space. You can even see an airplane model made by the Wright Brothers. Theaters:- The museum also has several theaters which demonstrate science in an entertaining and informative way. At the space theater, watch films on a huge, curved screen that is 23 meters (75 feet) tall. The screen and sounds surround you, creating an immersive experience. Simulators:- Pushpa Gujral Science City offers two different simulators–a flight simulator and an earthquake simulator. Both are thrilling experiences you won’t soon forget. Head inside of a plane for the flight simulator. For three-and-a-half minutes, you’ll feel as if you’re swooping and soaring through space. Parks and gardens The extensive offerings of Pushpa Gujral Science Center aren’t just limited to the inside of the museum. Step outside to explore two parks and the beautiful gardens during your visit. Food court:- Visitors who plan ahead can also bring their own packed meals and snacks into the museum. There is a designated dining hall where you can take a break and refuel. Huge parking available. fun place visits this with your friends and family. This place is awesome! Only the Earthquake ride here wasn't nice. I thought there would be a sudden tremor, extreme shaking but it was nothing. They were giving us knowledge about earthquakes. That's why I am giving 4 out of 5. If you'll visit this Science city, don't go for the earthquake rides.

** Disappointed ** I first visited Pushpa Gujral Science City in 2006–2007 and came back in 2025, but everything is still the same. Exhibits are outdated, infrastructure is neglected, and the video shows are the same old ones from nearly two decades ago. The globe-shaped theatre, which used to screen short science movies and was my main excitement, is now shut down—they just said the show is “off.” The only new addition is the Dino Park, which is fine, but this is supposed to be Science City, not just dinosaur statues. In almost 20 years, there’s been no progress. What could have been a hub of science and innovation feels frozen in time. It’s simply not worth the visit.

During a recent visit, Whilst attempting to purchase a ticket from a female ticket seller. Initially, she informed me that card payments could not be accepted because tax had to be paid. I assured her that I was happy to cover any applicable taxes. However, she then stated that the card machine was not working and insisted that only cash payments could be accepted.

Despite my efforts to seek clarification and offer alternative solutions, the seller remained firm on her stance. This experience was inconvenient and left me questioning the consistency and transparency of payment policies.

I was deeply disheartened by the deteriorating condition of the buildings and its equipments. This facility, which serves to educate the public on adopting green energy solutions such as solar power, is itself in a state of disrepair.

I observed the following issues:

Damaged Solar Infrastructure: The solar panels and solar lights in front of the building which educate on using green energy were broken and non-functional.

Non-operational Indoor Lighting: The lights inside the buildings were not working.

Unsafe Path Lighting: Several path lights were broken, with some dangling precariously from poles, posing a safety risk.

Polluted Waterways: The water intended for boats was brown, with rubbish floating on the surface, undermining the facility's environmental mission.

Moreover, when I spoke with a staff member, I learned that due to staff shortages, a technician is being assigned event operation duties, leaving critical technical issues unaddressed.

This situation is particularly ironic and concerning, given the facility's mission to promote sustainable practices. Without immediate intervention, the significant tax investments made into this project risk going to waste.

I urge the government and relevant authorities to take swift action to:

Repair the damaged solar panels, lights, and other infrastructure.

Address staffing shortages to ensure that technical expertise is available on-site.

Improve the cleanliness and safety of the facility, including the maintenance of waterways and grounds.

Addressing these issues promptly will not only restore the facility’s functionality but also reaffirm its commitment to sustainability and public education.

I look forward to seeing progress in...
