Millions of Hindus revere and worship cows. Hinduism is a religion that raises the status of Mother to the level of Goddess. Therefore, the cow is considered a sacred animal, as it provides us life-sustaining milk. The cow is seen as a maternal figure, a caretaker of her people. The cow is a symbol of the divine bounty of the earth.
Lord Krishna, one of the most well-known of the Hindu deities is often depicted playing his flute amongst cows and dancing Gopis (milkmaids). He grew up as a cow herder. Krishna also goes by the names Govinda and Gopala, which literally mean “friend and protector of cows.” It is considered highly auspicious for a true devotee to feed a cow, even before eating breakfast oneself.

Hence, keeping this in mind Govind Godham was established in the year 2000(May) by “Gow Seva Samiti(Regi) “ trust at Partap Singh Wala, Humbran Road, Ludhiana. The Govind Godham is spread in the 5 acres of land and it is biggest “Gaushala” (Cow’s Home) in North India. Here near about 1700 cows are living and trust is providing them all facilities including food, medical and health facilities. Trust takes only injured, non-milking, sick and injured cows here. Not a enjoying approach road. I shall put zero on 1 to 5 star rating for approch. Temple is good. Small Fruit shops, flower shop at the entering gate, very good to see but not pleasent to purchase. Gate to temple good flooring. Geen Grass lawn nicely maintained, but nothing available for kids. Shoes cabinet having top RCC roof, sitting benches are provided for opening / putting shoes. Good for senior citizens and kids. Water tap in open air. During summer in day time very difficult to move from shoe rake to temple. Temple at an height 3 meters. Stairs are OK, but no she'd, which is very necessary for babies / kids/ Senior Citizens. Inside temple front OK but if take parikarma / round, nothing attractive to see. If, photos, site seen will improve. Cow shelter very good. Green Grass cuttings available. Laddos available for cow feeding. Man available to carry cut grass bags. Veterinary facility for cow. Treatment plant and Gober Gas Plant is installed, but not seen using gas. Washroom Gents and Ladies available. Maintenance is good.
