Badalgarh Fort situated in the Jhunjhunu district of the Shekhawati region was constructed under the regime of a Muslim ruler, Nawab Fazal Khan in the early 16th century.
It is situated atop a hill and has lush green surroundings and an plenty of echo points to offer. It is also significant of the legendary battles that have been fought here. It was taken over by a Rajput leader Shardul Singhji in the 1730s.
The Badalgarh Fort was built by Nawab Fazl Khan, towards the end of the 17th century. Though it is considered one of the popular forts of Shekhawati, it was basically built as a stable to protect the camels and horses. Therefore, this palace lacks the тАШsheesh mahalsтАЩ or mirror palaces and тАШbaradarisтАЩ or pavilions that is usually found in other palaces.
Apart from providing views of the surrounding areas, the fort has three tombs or тАШmakbarasтАЩ of the Kaimkhani nawabs.
