At the confluence of

सरस सलीला Rivers Som//सोम//, Mahi//माही// & Jakhm// जाखम//; In the South Rajasthan ,

Beneshwar Dham is

an island of

a shape of a fish/ मत्स्याकार/

measuring 240 bighas in the remote settings of

Aravalli mountain

(one of the oldest  range in the world)

in Vagad region,

bordering

Rajasthan,

Madhya Pradesh

and

Gujarat.️ ️

According to the mythological facts

(Vamana Purana / वामन पुराण /,

Skanda Purana / स्कन्द पुराण /

&

Vishnu Purana / विष्णु पुराण /,

Asur Raj Bali performed 'Rajasuya Yagya' in a  ' Secret area ' east of this confluence.

Also Donated all his opulence to Vishnu   apparent as  Vaman Avtar

& remaining in Shahi charity.

In only three steps (/डग/पग/) land,

King Bali was taken to

Patala/ पाताल/.

At the same time, this path to

Patala/ पाताल/

is called

Abudra /आबुदरा/.

2️⃣Shukracharya / शुक्राचार्य /

had established himself by getting the temple of

Svayam Bhu Devadhidev Mahadev

स्वयम्   भू देवाधिदेव महादेव/

built on

Matsyakar Island

/ मत्स्याकार टापू/

which is mentioned in

Skanda Purana/स्कन्द पुराण/

and

Varaha Purana/वराह पुराण/.

मतस्याकार टापू पर  स्वयम् भू देवाधिदेव महादेव के मन्दिर का निर्माण करवाकर शुक्राचार्य ने प्रतिष्ठा करवाई गई थी, जिसका उल्लेख स्कन्द पुराण एवं वराह पुराण में मिलता है।

Vijva Mata Vindhyavasini

/विजवामाता विन्ध्यावासिनि  मन्दिर/;

There is a mention of the temple and the foundation stone of Beneshwar Shivalay /बेणेश्‍वर शिवालय/ on the eleventh and Monday of Samvat 1391.

The inscription to complete this temple is on both the

inscriptions/शिलालेख /

located in the

Shivalayशिवालय

that in Vikram Samvat 1510, Giripur Maharawal Shri Askaran had completed the construction. An inscription on the Beneshwar Mahade inscription stone of Matsyakar Island Beneshwar Mahadev/ मत्स्याकार टापू बेणेश्‍वर महादेव शिवालय /was declared independent. The importance of Shri Beneshwar Mahadev, the adorable god of Ansh Avatar Purush, is very ancient.

The Beneshwar temple, containing the most revered Shiva Linga of the region, is situated on a delta. formed at the confluence of Som and Mahi rivers.
