Mangadh Hill a pious place of faith for tribals of Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhyapradesh for Guru Govindsinh.

The entire area is gifted with beautiful hills surrounded by scattered forests. Backwaters of Kadana dam are very near to this area.

A fresh dispute has erupted between Gujarat and Rajasthan over their claims on Mangadh Hills, located on the borders of the two states.

Gujarat claims half of the hills, while the Rajasthan government claims the entire hills as theirs.

The dispute has been going on between the two sides for the last 40 years, though the Rajasthan government virtually has the physical control over the hills.

Now, a fresh dispute has erupted after the Panchmahals district administration began construction of an approach road, a van kutir (forest hut) and a hand-pump to provide facilities to tribals having sentimental attachment to the place. Hundreds of tribals were killed in the hills during an anti-British uprising in 1911. Tribals gather in large numbers every January to pay their respects to the dead.

There is virtually no habitation over the hills and the entire area is forest land. No agricultural activity is possible due to the nature of the terrain.

The money for the construction was provided from the local area development fund of Santrampur MLA Paranjayadityasinh Parmar.

He told The Indian Express that officials from the Rajasthan government objected to the work being carried

out by the Gujarat government to provide facilities to tribals during their annual gathering. He said he personally took up the matter with the Banswada district officials in Rajasthan to ensure the work was completed.

Now he wants a permanent settlement of the dispute by involving officials from both sides to avoid such incidents.

Panchmahals District Collector Milind Torawane said the government records show that half of the hills lie in Gujarat. Despite several meetings between the two sides, there hasn't been any conclusion, he added.

Torawane said: "The approach road to the hills passes through Anandpuri village in Rajasthan, which is why it is misinterpreted that the hills are in Rajasthan. That is why the Rajasthan forest officers and residents of Anandpuri object to Gujarat government's activities there. Besides, the Rajasthan government has also put up a barricade and...

I'm Not recommending as i dont feels so attractive this just because no amenities are available for visitors also monument is not well maintained by the administration... Cleaning required very much, trees and plantation trimming also required. Need amenities like wash rooms and drinking water at least.. They charges for every thing as this place is belongs to GOVERNMENT of RAJASTHAN. They charges 20₹ for 4 wheeler car & 10₹ bike, 10₹ each indian adult, 100₹ foreigners, 100₹ for camera, 200₹ for drones.. Etc..

Mangadh Hill, located partly in Gujarat and Rajasthan. Memorial and the best view point are in Rajasthan, while Hotel, Museum, Garden (with two view points) and Temple are in Gujarat. Historical place. The best time to visit would be after monsoon. Very calm place. You can literally hear all sounds clearly coming out of the valley. The hotel is average, yet it is the only place where you can get food. Enjoy the sunrise and sunset there. If you stay at the hotel, the balcony is the best place. All rooms as of now are Non AC. Food is good and they will cook whatever is requested even though tourists are less.
