Nahargarh Zoological Park, nestled in the picturesque Aravalli hills near Jaipur, offers an unforgettable experience for wildlife lovers. The park, known for its well-maintained enclosures and diverse range of animals, has recently added majestic lions and tigers, further enhancing its appeal. The sight of these big cats in their spacious and naturalistic habitats is truly awe-inspiring.
One of the standout aspects of the zoo is its excellent maintenance. The authorities have ensured that the enclosures are clean, well-ventilated, and designed to provide a comfortable environment for the animals. The lush greenery, well-paved walkways, and properly marked signage make navigation easy for visitors. The overall cleanliness of the park adds to the pleasant experience, making it a perfect destination for families, nature enthusiasts, and photographers alike.
The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the newly introduced lions and tigers. Watching these magnificent creatures up close was a thrilling experience. The tigers, with their striking stripes and regal stance, commanded attention, while the lions exuded sheer power and dominance. The efforts made by the zoo authorities to provide them with a natural and stimulating habitat are commendable. The glass viewing enclosures allow visitors to observe these predators safely while still feeling a sense of closeness to them.
Apart from the big cats, the park houses a variety of other wildlife, including leopards, deer, bears, and different bird species. The zoo's commitment to wildlife conservation and education is evident through the informative boards placed near each enclosure, providing valuable insights into the animals' behavior and habitat.
However, one major drawback that needs immediate attention is the condition of the washrooms. Despite the otherwise excellent maintenance of the park, the restrooms are in a deplorable state—dirty, poorly maintained, and lacking basic hygiene. This not only hampers the visitor experience but also reflects poorly on the overall management of such a well-kept park. Given the high footfall, authorities must prioritize improving sanitation facilities to match the high standards set in other aspects of the zoo.
Overall, Nahargarh Zoological Park is a must-visit destination for those looking to experience wildlife in a clean and well-maintained environment. The addition of lions and tigers has significantly elevated its charm, making it a thrilling and educational experience for visitors of all ages. If the washroom facilities are improved, the park could truly become one of the finest zoological...
Read moreThis place is simply awsome. We visited this place with family in the Feb month. Being in Rajasthan, this was one of the great times to visit climatically. Its not too far outside Jaipur. Lets say 30 mins to 90 mins ride based on your start points and traffic. So they have 2 categories, Lion Safari (250/head) Animal Zoo (50/head)
So we took a combo of it (it makes 300/head). Also note that for any DSLR camera or recording device (except mobiles) you need to take a separate ticket which will cost 200 additional bucks (this is only if you want to take your DSLR to Safari, no charges for zoo)
Start with Safari, they take you in a closed van (checkout the pics). Though, it took a bit longer to start safari all thanks to drivers and moderators (they keep trying to benefit themselves monetory wise as kids as small as 5 years will also be charged as adult, rest is seself explanatory). We also had an arguement there but eventually trip started.
Initially for first 20 odd minutes they took us to various routes but could not trace the lions at all (just to tell you, they have 3 lions). But finally, a co-passenger was able to trace 2 of them sitting together. Now the best part, it was SIMPLY AWSOME. We were soooo near to them. And luckyly, we could trace the third one as well. We could see them walking majestically.
The park has mentioned it on boards, If you see the lion you were lucky..and so we were.
Afterwards, we move to Zoo.. trust me after sooo very long I saw a zoo in India maintained soo very well..with so many animals out there to see.. they had lapords, lions, tigers, white tigers, bears, variety of dears, crocodiles..
It was great experience and worth spending time and money.
Overall rating - 5/5 Cleanliness - 5/5 Urinals and drinking water availability -...
Read moreSurprising and Enjoyable Visit to Nahargarh Biological Reserve, Jaipur
We had the pleasure of visiting the Nahargarh Biological Reserve during our trip to Jaipur, and it was a wonderful and surprising experience. We weren’t expecting such a well-maintained preserve with such a diverse range of animals. The reserve is home to over 12-15 different species, all of which are cared for meticulously, making it a great place to see wildlife up close.
One of the highlights of our visit was seeing the two seven-month-old tiger cubs, one albino and one regular. We arrived early at 9 AM, and it was an unforgettable experience watching them play and interact for about 15 minutes—such a rare and delightful sight. Apart from the tigers, the reserve also has a wide variety of animals, including crocodiles, alligators, and various species of deer. It was impressive to see how many animals they had, and the environment seemed very well-suited to their care.
If you’re visiting Jaipur, we highly recommend taking the time to visit this biological reserve, especially if you’re with family or kids. It’s a great way to experience nature and learn about wildlife conservation. They also offer Lion and Tiger Safari tours, which are worth checking out if you have the time.
Overall, it was a memorable visit, and we left with a newfound appreciation for the wildlife in the region. Definitely a must-see for animal lovers and anyone looking to experience a different...
