The white marble structure across the whole southern bank, which is in between two hillocks, is known as Nau Chouki, or nine pavilions. The entire construction is in combination of nines as Hindus deem no.9 auspicious. Of the original five Torans ( weighing arches), three are gone. Only one of the remaining two is intact. The stone steps and marble structure touches the water below... There are two cenotaphs with carved pillars and ceiling decorated with very fine and delicate work in stone depicting various subjects from Hindu mythology--Gods, chariots, Sun, lions, birds etc. embedded in flower patterns and vines. The subject and motif on every patch is different from the other. On the hills alongside, there is old palace of the king on one, and temple on the other. Nau Chouki is not basically a religious place. Its main importance lies in the fact that it has 27 marble slabs with inscription of history of Mewar. These slabs are known as Raj-Prashsti. The slabs are also laced with exquisite carvings..... Just wowwww
