Pratap Gaurav Kendra in Udaipur offers a commendable and engaging tribute to the legendary Maharana Pratap, a warrior king whose name resonates with courage and unwavering resistance in Indian history. While it serves as a powerful reminder of his legacy and the rich heritage of Mewar, a few aspects prevent it from reaching a perfect score, earning it a strong 4-star rating. The most striking feature is undoubtedly the massive 57-foot tall metal statue of Maharana Pratap, seated majestically. It's an imposing and inspiring sight, setting the tone for the entire complex. The surrounding area offers good vantage points for photos and a moment of quiet reflection. The Kendra excels in its multimedia approach to storytelling. Unlike traditional museums that might rely solely on static displays, Pratap Gaurav Kendra utilizes various formats including pictorials, animations, and audio-visual shows to bring history to life. The galleries showcasing the life of Maharana Pratap, the Battle of Haldighati (vividly depicted with models and sound effects), and other key figures of Mewar history like Panna Dhai and Meera Bai, are quite engaging. This use of technology makes the learning experience interactive and accessible to a wider audience, including younger visitors. The "Bharat Darshan" light and sound show is another notable attraction, offering a broader overview of India's cultural and geographical glory. While I didn't experience the much-discussed "robotic show" (which some reviews suggest are static figures with limited movement), the overall presentation aims to be immersive and educational. The guides at the Kendra are generally knowledgeable and enthusiastic, adding significant value to the visit by providing context and anecdotes that bring the exhibits to life. Their dedication to explaining the historical details enhances the visitor's understanding and appreciation. However, a few areas could be improved. The quality of some of the audio-visual presentations could be more refined, with better visual settings and sound balancing to create a truly seamless and high-quality immersive experience. While the concept of interactive displays is excellent, sometimes the execution can feel a bit dated compared to world-class museums. Additionally, some visitors might find the focus to be very singular on Maharana Pratap and the Mewar dynasty, with less broader historical context or alternative perspectives. Despite these minor points, Pratap Gaurav Kendra is a highly recommended visit, especially for history enthusiasts and anyone looking to learn more about the inspiring legacy of Maharana Pratap. It's a place that evokes a strong sense of pride and offers a unique way to connect with the valor and sacrifices that shaped this significant region of India. It's more than just a museum; it's a...

Pratap Gaurav Kendra, Udaipur is a must-visit destination for anyone who wants to learn more about the glorious history and culture of Mewar. The place is located at Tiger Hill, which offers a panoramic view of the city and its lakes. The main attraction is the 57 feet high metal statue of Maharana Pratap in a sitting posture, which is visible from a distance and looks majestic. The statue is surrounded by a beautiful garden and a fountain.

The place also has a museum that showcases the life and achievements of Maharana Pratap and his ancestors through moving figures, sound, and light. The museum is divided into several galleries, each depicting a different aspect of Mewar's history, such as Bappa Rawal, Hadi Rani, Panna Dai, Rana Sanga, etc. The museum also has a theatre where three series of three movies are shown on the history of the area and some of the historical figures. The movies are informative and entertaining.

The place also has a Bhakti Dham with nine temples dedicated to different deities. The temples are well-maintained and have a serene atmosphere. The place also has a 12-feet metal statue of Bharat Mata, which symbolizes the unity and diversity of India.

The best part of our visit was our guide, Mr. Kuldeep, who was very knowledgeable and friendly. He explained everything in detail and answered all our queries patiently. He also gave us some interesting facts and anecdotes about the place and its history. He made our visit more enjoyable and memorable.

My Google Review # 000239.

This was a unplanned stop on our itinerary as the cabbie insisted us to check this place out.

Time Required - A solid 2hrs to thoroughly enjoy it and understand the historical significance.

Caution - Do check the timings of the video shows and the closing time of the Museum/ Centre, prior to dropping in here.

The entire setup is run by the lineage of Maharana Pratap and not under the Govt machinery... hence it proudly mentions all the details in the battles that we had fought with the Mughals.

On one side of the road, is the huge statue of Maharana Pratap engraved in the mountain and with waterfall at his footsteps. It is long walk up the stairs and gives you a magnificent view of the Udaipur skyline... Well maintained with beautiful flowers and landscaping, it is a visual treat for nature lovers as well.

On the other side of the road is the Centre of Arts which showcases the wildlife in Udaipur (through statues) and has a proper 20-min stage set for all the key HINDU landmarks in the country and also a proper museum with moving statues and almost-real audio effects - depicting all the events in the entire lineage of Maharana Pratap.

Definitely a must for creating awareness about our own history.

A must visit place in Udaipur with family. Pratap Gaurav Kendra (PGK) complete visit takes nearly 1:30 hours including Bhamashah Vikray Kendra (at the Exit point) PGK is a vision of RSS Pracharak Shri Sohan Singh Ji. PGK inaugurated by the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi and RSS Sarsangchalak Shri Dr. Mohan Ji Bhagwat. PGK provides complete knowledge and the truth about the Maharana Pratap. How he fought against moguls, his struggle and scarification for the country. Effect of lights, sound, animations and 3D technology and various shows with light and sound makes more interesting and tempting. There are a number of attractions at Pratap Gaurav Kendra, the main one being the 57 feet high metal statue of Maharana Pratap in a sitting posture. And at the exit point you will reach at Bhamashah Vikray Kendra where you can buy the souvenirs and handicraft products with the very reasonable fixed price from the market. You can say in a wholesale price with the finest quality of the products, most of the product made by the human being due to PGK and Samiti supports the society in many manners. A must visit place with the family........
