Biological park Udaipur is everything it says it to be. They have a very nice collection of species which you can see in there natural habitat. The animals are not practically caged in small spaces but more like in a beautiful open space surrounded with hills.
a) Location : The biological park is located a bit away from udaipur but it is must visit place as it also houses one of the main attraction of Udaipur ie. Sajjangarh palace. The park is located at the foot of the Sajjangarh hill.
B) Best time to visit: Since Udaipur is situated in Rajasthan it becomes really hot during the month of April to June so most practical time to visit this place is from October to February.
C) Things to see: There is a lot to see in the biological park as they have a huge collection of species like tigers, lions, birds, bear etc. and the walk is really nice too they have almost a 7 km walk all up and down the hills. (See pictures)
D) Entry fees: The entry to the park is only Rs. 20 but as i said it can become a tiring walk of a whole 7 kms (If you are into walking like me then this is your kind of place) but they also have lots of golf cart running around which can costs around 60 Rs per person if you are using shared cart or Rs 600 per personal golf cart so it can become expensive. If you are having a professional camera then they charge a lot for that too.
E) Service : Again there is no service inside the park which I personally feel they should have as it is a huge park and people can need help. They have toilets and drinking water facility all over the park and at the end of the tour they have canteen as well so at least these facilities are present.
F) Overall: It is a nice place to visit for families if you prefer walking you can enjoy 3-4 hours of walking and nice places to click pictures if you are using the golf cart the tour almost last around an hour so that is also good. We enjoyed our visit and will surely visit the next time when I get the chance.
So a must visit lace if you are in Udaipur and love to be...
Β Β Β Read moreSajjangarh Biological Park is a great place to explore nature and wildlife near Udaipur, located at the foot of the Sajjangarh Palace (Monsoon Palace). It offers a peaceful and educational experience, especially for families, couples, and nature lovers.
Transportation Inside the Park:
If you're visiting with family or as a couple, I recommend taking the golf cart for a more comfortable experience. The charges are around:
βΉ700+ for 2 people
βΉ900β1000 for 4 people
Itβs a convenient way to explore the park without getting tired, especially if you prefer a relaxed visit.
If you're with friends or children, walking is a great option. The total walking distance is about 2β3 km (approximately 2500β3000 steps). The trail has gentle slopes and scenic routes, making it enjoyable. However, be prepared for some uphill and downhill paths, which add a bit of adventure to the walk.
Wildlife Experience:
The park houses a variety of animals including lions, lionesses, tigers, leopards, bears, and the highlight β deer, which can be seen from a very close distance. The layout allows for decent viewing, though visibility can vary depending on the weather.
Best Time to Visit:
Avoid rainy days, as the thick greenery during monsoon makes it harder to spot animals. You might only see them from a distance of around 100 meters or more.
Winter is the best season to visit. The weather is pleasant, and animal visibility tends to be better.
If you do visit during the monsoon, opt for walking instead of the golf cart. It lets you enjoy the lush environment at your own pace, even if animal sightings are limited.
Additional Details:
Entry Ticket: βΉ43 per person
Ideal Duration: 2 to 3 hours is sufficient to explore the park fully.
Final Thoughts:
Sajjangarh Biological Park is a well-maintained and thoughtfully designed place. Whether you want a leisurely ride or an adventurous walk, the experience is worth it. Itβs a refreshing break from the city, especially for wildlife enthusiasts...
Β Β Β Read moreSajjan Garh Biological Park left me with a disappointing experience, and I cannot help but feel that it's all a game of money rather than a genuine focus on wildlife conservation and visitor satisfaction.
Firstly, the entry fee to the park seemed exorbitant, especially considering the overall quality of the facilities and attractions. I expected a more reasonable pricing, but it felt like they were trying to capitalize on visitors without providing adequate value in return.
The overall maintenance of the park was subpar. The enclosures for the animals appeared cramped and lacking in enrichment. It was disheartening to see animals in such conditions, seemingly more focused on profit than the well-being and happiness of the creatures.
Furthermore, the lack of knowledgeable staff and guided tours was disappointing. I was hoping to learn more about the various species housed in the park, but the limited information provided left me feeling unsatisfied and unengaged.
The food and refreshment options inside the park were overpriced, and the quality of the offerings did not match the steep prices. It felt like they were trying to squeeze as much money as possible from visitors, rather than providing reasonably priced and delectable options.
The overall experience left me questioning the integrity of the park's commitment to wildlife conservation. It felt more like a commercial venture focused on profiting from visitors, rather than a genuine effort to educate, conserve, and protect the animals.
In conclusion, my visit to Sajjan Garh Biological Park was disheartening, with a strong emphasis on making money rather than prioritizing the well-being of the animals and providing an enriching experience for visitors. I would not recommend this park to others, as there are better options available that genuinely focus on wildlife conservation and provide a fulfilling and educational experience for visitors....
