Recently visited Shree Jain Nageshwar Tirth during murti isthapna mahotasva and amazed to see the huge full size green 13.5 feet tall idol (look black) of lord Shri Parasnath Bhagwan which look beautiful. The entire campus is full of spiritual environment. The beauty of campus is that all of its Dharamshala’s are inter-connected which is found to be very convenient. With a little more effort, one of the Dharamshala’s, Prabodh where we stayed can be made more comfortable. If possible, stay in Godwal Dharamshala which is said to be the best around the tirth. The bhojanshala is fully functional and serve food like at home. The entire isthapna mahotasva was organised beautifully for which mahotasva committee must be complimented. Disappointed to see how even jain programmes are now been converted into the the full fledged marketing event with the blessings of saints! Huge amount of money is being collected through such events, of course for the development of tirth! Vikramgarh Alot (VMA) is the nearest railway station where most of the trains stop for about two minutes. Nearest airport is located in Indore which is about 125 kms.

Shri Nageshwar Parshwanath Jain Tirth is a significant pilgrimage site located in the Jhalawad district of Rajasthan, on the border between Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. This temple holds immense religious importance, particularly within the Jain community, and is dedicated to Lord Parshwanath, the 23rd Tirthankara. The highlight of the tirth is the life-sized 13.5-foot idol of Lord Parshwanath in the kayotsarga (meditative) posture. This idol, carved from a rare green stone and believed to be over 2850 years old, features a striking seven-headed serpent hood above the deity's head, symbolizing protection. The craftsmanship of the idol is highly intricate, with fine carvings of lotus leaves, lions, and other religious symbols. A unique legend states that the idol was once made of gold, but was transformed into stone by the deity Dharnendra to safeguard it from theft The tirth also features 24 smaller shrines within its premises, each housing idols of the 24 Tirthankaras. Additionally, statues of Lord Shantinath and Lord Mahavir stand on either side of the main idol. The temple is surrounded by a peaceful ambiance, with modern amenities such as accommodation and a bhojanshala (dining facility) provided for pilgrims Devotees visiting the tirth can also witness a miraculous aspect associated with the temple—a snake believed to live behind the idol’s head, occasionally seen by visitors. This mystical connection adds to the spiritual significance of the site. In addition to its religious importance, the temple runs a gaushala (cow sanctuary) and organizes medical camps, further contributing to the welfare of society.

Nice place if you are searching for a sacred place. It is a Jain temple which is approximately 10 kms away from VIKRAMGARH ALOT. Alot is the nearest accessible railway station and is well connected to the major cities like Delhi , Bombay. Food is available here according to timings. When we went, the food was available from 11-1:30 in the morning and similarly at certain timings in the evening. Cleanliness was maintained and the dishes and food items served were also good in taste. A nominal amount of RS. 70 per person is to be paid for food. The place also has rest rooms for those who wanna stay for long hours. Apart from that, it also has a market nearby and the weather here remains similar to the nearby areas. The best time to visit here according to me is winter.

Shri Unhel Teerth Jain Idol :The moolnayak idol of Shri Chintamani Parshwanath Bhagwan, present in the temple, made up of bluish stone in padmasan position and has a height of about 105 cms. Jain God Desc: This teerth place was established before 10th century. Jain Teerth:The teerth temple is situated in Jain Mandir lane, in the centre of Unhel village. Speciality of Jain Teerth: Apart from an ancient teerth place, this is also said to be an atisay kshetra as many miraculous incidents have took place here. On many occasions, sound of Bhajan & Keertan are heard during night giving indications of Arti of Prabhu idol is taking place. Few years ago, some type of flow started coming out fromth eyes of the moolnayak idol. Many pilgrims & present followers of Prabhu Veer has tried to clear the eyes but the flow was emergin continously, it stopped after some time automatically. It is said that many of the inhearted thinkings of the pilgrims have been fulfilled and many other miraculous happenings took place in the time scale. Mulnayak: Nearly 420 cms, high, green – coloured standing idol of Bhagwan Parshvanath  in the Kausagga posture. Over the head of Bhagwan, there is an umbrella of seven hoods. The total height with hoods is 14 ft. The height of God’s body excluding the hoods is thirteen and a half ft. The actual height of Bhagwan was of nine hands.

Tirth: It is on the river bank near the Unhel village and at the height of a thousand ft. from the sea – level.

Historicity: The idol installed in this temple is nearly 2800 years old. It is made of Emeralds. Only a direct observer who has actually seen the Lord can make the thirteen and a half ft. high idol of Bhagawan Pashvanath . The colour of the idol is the actual colour of the Lord. Sculptors and idol specialists  are of the opinion that the gem – stone out of which the idol is made is more than two thousand years old. It is believed that the idol was made by gods.  This idol was formerly installed in the temple in the city of Ahichattra. As time passed by, people came to know about the value of this idol. In greed, many people wanted to destroy the idol. The presiding deity protected the idol. A Jain Acharya heard of this and by virtue of his penance, he called Dharanendradev and asked him to make the idol of stone  so that any greedy person  may not break the idol. Later on, this idol was brought to Parasnagar and installed there. King Ajitsen built a beautiful temple for the Lord and worshipped the Lord.  He was childless. He was blessed by a child. In Vikram Samvat 1624, this temple was renovated by the preachings of Shri Abhaydevsuri. Parasnagar became Nageshwar and hence the Lord came to be known as Nageshwar Parshvanath. As time flew, the  Pujaribaba of that place became the owners of the idol. Upadhayay Shri Dharmasagarji Maharaj, came to know that the idol known as ‘Nagbaba’ in the unhel village of Rajasthan was in fact an ancient Jain Swetamber idol of Bhagawan Nageshvar Parshvanath. It was in the possession of non-Jains. By his strenuous efforts, the idol was returned to the Jains through court order. The idol was re-installed by Shri Ahbaysagarji ganivarya and made fit for worship by doing 18...
