Located right next to the MPT Tourist Village, Bhadaiya Kund is a natural rainwater waterfall tank. So, monsoon is the best time to visit it, when the Kund is full. But, this year, due to a paucity of rains in the region, it’d much less water. However, that didn’t take away the charm of the Kund. It is surrounded by trees that add to the overall radiance of the spot. It also helped that there weren’t too many visitors. After buying an entry ticket of INR 10 per adult, we climbed down a few stairs to reach the tank. To our right was the waterfall, falling over a traditional, many – pillared concave structure. Straight ahead was a small temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman. Narrow pathways are built over the water that flows onwards to the lake. Apparently, till as recently as 2021, bathing in the Bhadaiya Kund was allowed. But, on our visit, we saw the place barricaded with fences & railings made at all the accident – prone areas. Walking further ahead, we came across a garden with swings for children. A few hawkers sold edible items as well as cheap plastic toys. Further ahead, the Sankhya Sagar begins; the Kund water merges into this. Bhadaiya Kund is also said to have an underground natural spring that’s known for its high mineral content. And, interestingly, bathing in its waters is supposed to remove discords between couples! 😀 Lastly, to be honest, the Bhadaiya Kund needs a cleanliness drive.

It's a large water reservoir ( Taalab) at Shivpuri, district - Shivpuri, MP, India . Very pictureous place, forest like cool atmosphere ,with Lord Shiva temple to worship. . The lake , 3-4 kms from main city is very deep and habitat of hundreds of crocodile s . Very nice spot for spending a days time . Has a restaurent where one can have indian cuisine lunch . Good hotels in the city to stay overnight. Shivpuri is situated on the AB Road national highway between historical Gwalior city (120 kms )and Guna district. At Shivpuri, other spots of tourism are Chhatri and Madhav National park. Chhatri( A noble Marble structure ) is built in memories of ancestors of Old Scindia ( Shinde ) dynasty . Chhatri is worth seeing . It has marble and silver metal doors which r still in working state after 100 years or so . The carvings in marble with embossing of colour stones into it, is very beautiful , just like in Taj Mahal of Agra. It is learnt that the same family of Taj Mahal-artisans/craftsmen adorned the Chhatri. It is advisable if one hires a guide there for watching this place .

Bhadaiya Kund, located near Shivpuri in Madhya Pradesh, is a tranquil and scenic natural spring that has gradually gained attention among nature lovers and offbeat travelers. Tucked away amidst dense forests and rocky terrain, this spot offers a refreshing escape from the bustle of city life and showcases the lesser-known natural beauty of the region.

The highlight of Bhadaiya Kund is its clean, cool, and naturally flowing spring water that emerges from the rocks. Many locals believe the water here has therapeutic properties, and it’s common to see people taking a dip or simply enjoying the refreshing ambiance. The site is surrounded by lush greenery and occasional sightings of wildlife, making it a peaceful retreat for those who enjoy quiet nature spots.

What adds to its charm is that Bhadaiya Kund isn’t overly commercialized. This means fewer crowds, minimal litter, and a raw, untouched feel. However, this also means that facilities like food stalls, restrooms, or changing rooms are limited—so visitors should come prepared.

Ideal for picnics, photography, or simply a peaceful day out, Bhadaiya Kund is perfect for travelers seeking serenity and natural beauty. It’s especially popular during monsoon when the surroundings turn vibrant and the water flow increases. A must-visit for nature enthusiasts...
