Phensang Monastery, located near Gangtok, is one of Sikkim's oldest and largest monasteries, established in 1721. Nestled amidst lush hills, it offers stunning views of the surrounding natural beauty. This monastery is home to over 300 monks and belongs to the Nyingma sect of Tibetan Buddhism. A highlight of this site is its annual festival held on the 28th and 29th days of the 10th month of the Tibetan calendar, which is celebrated with much devotion and colorful rituals.
