Read moreOne of the best experience when visiting Sikkim was the trip to Phodong Monastery. It's about an hour drive from Gangtok, through a scenic route but slightly bad roads. The Monastery is beautiful , has a great view of the mountain ranges and the prayer chants makes it a wonderful visit. There was a hail storm when we visited , we halted there for sometime until the storm cleared and the view after that was dramatic and exciting.
