Elephant Mountains, mountain range šŸ¤—šŸ¤—in the WesternĀ Ghats,Ā Tamil NaduĀ state, southernĀ India😱. The Anaimalai Hills are located at a junction of the Eastern Ghats and Western Ghats and have a general northwest-southeast trend. 🤟🤟Anai PeakĀ (8,842 feet [2,695 metres]) lies at the extreme southwestern end of the range and is the highest peak in southern India. Formed by fault-block movements in theĀ Holocene EpochĀ (i.e., about the past 11,700 years), the Anaimalai Hills descend to form a series of terraces about 3,300 feet (1,000 metres) high. DenseĀ monsoonĀ forests including rosewood, sandalwood,Ā teak, and sago palms cover most of the region. The soils are mottled red and brown containing oxides of aluminum and iron and are used as building material mixed with mortar and in road construction. TheĀ Kadar, Maravar, and Pooliyar peoples inhabit the sparsely populated hills; their economy is based on hunting and gathering and onĀ shifting cultivation. There are tea, coffee, and rubber plantations where the hills have been cleared of forests. Industries are mainly household andĀ compriseĀ basket weaving and the production of coir and coir mat, metal articles, andĀ bidiĀ (cigarettes). Srivilliputtur, Uttamapalaiyam, and Manur are the important towns

Valparai I must say was the most beautiful place I have been to. The views, nature, and the road I must say it is truly the "seventh Heaven on earth" . I would suggest anyone who is willing to travel there should definitely go by bike to feel the breeze, the air and the nature. There are no much resorts or hotels and I wouldn't say it is for tourists but anyone who wants to get away from their busy life and enjoy nature valparai should be on their bucket list. While travelling by bike make sure you don't travel at night because this place is known for leapords that usually comes out at night.

To those who love to go on bike rides this is the bestest route to travel. Starting from kerala and ending in Tamil nadu. To Those who are near to Thrissur can choose the Chalakkudy, Athirapilly route and through valparai we can reach an end of Tamil nadu. This can be a memorable journey for bikers. The beautiful hills and tea plantations are so beautiful. Evenings are so cold and we mught fall in love with the climate. Those lucky ones can also get to see elephants and other wild animals while going through these roads.

We have visited this place few years ago. Its about 814m on height. You have to trek this hill to reach there. Once you reach on the top you will be mesmerised by the beauty of nature. There are footprints of Lord Shiva on the rock there. And the most important thing you will notice is that when you touch the footprints you feel the temperature is lower than other sides of same rock. Very good place to visit but you should have high energy to reach there. Many people try to reach there but come back without reaching there due to tiredness. I would suggest you to start trekking in the early morning because once Sun raises the rocks between path gets heated and it is...
