A Serene and Well-Managed Temple Experience Devi Karumariyammam Temple in Thiruverkadu is a truly peaceful and spiritually uplifting place. I loved the calm atmosphere during my weekday morning visit—there was hardly any crowd, which made for a relaxed and fulfilling darshan. Weekends, however, can get very crowded, so I’d definitely recommend coming on a weekday morning if you’re looking for a quieter experience. The car parking facility is a big plus—spacious, well-maintained, and just ₹30 for entry. Google Maps gives perfect directions right up to the parking lot, so navigation is easy. Just a heads-up: the roads leading up to Thiruverkadu are good, but the final stretch before the temple is a bit crooked and narrow. If you’re driving with family, especially with kids or elders, take it slow and drive carefully. The temple itself is beautiful and well-organized, and you can get special darshan tickets if you want to skip the queue on busy days. Overall, a wonderful place for both spiritual seekers and families. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Chennai or the surrounding area!

திருவேற்காடு தேவி கருமாரியம்மன் ஆலயம் Arulmigu Devi Karumariamman Temple in Thiruverkadu is a blessing. After 20 years, I revisited this sacred place, specifically planning my trip on a Friday. We chose to go by two-wheeler for convenience. Upon arrival around 6:30 pm, we participated in the common darshan, which was smooth and hassle-free. The poojaris were kind and allowed us to witness the entire pooja and alangaram. The atmosphere was filled with positive vibes, making it a must-visit destination in Chennai, especially with family and friends. However, we encountered an issue when the poojaris handed out flowers to women devotees without discretion, and one even asked us to buy a blade to cut the flowers, which was surprising. I hope the trustees address this matter to enhance the devotee experience. Additionally, the trustees could consider donating building materials for the upcoming Kumbabishekam. Overall, the temple exudes a wonderful energy, and I'm grateful for the darshan.

Devi Karumari Amman Temple in Tiruverkadu is a Divine Temple which attracts millions of devotees throughout the year. Presently, work is going on towards Kumbabishekam and hence we cannot see all sannadhis. Sufficient Car Parking is there which provides comfort to devotees. This Temple is also a MUST visit for not only Chennaites but also Tourists.

🌺🛕 Divine Review – Arulmigu Devi Karumariamman Temple, Thiruverkadu 🛕🌺 📍 Thiruverkadu, Chennai, Tamil Nadu – A Beacon of Shakti Devotion

🙏 Nestled in the spiritually vibrant town of Thiruverkadu, the Arulmigu Devi Karumariamman Temple is one of the most revered shrines dedicated to Amman (Shakti) in Tamil Nadu. This sacred abode of Karumariamman – the benevolent and powerful village goddess – draws thousands of devotees who seek her grace for protection, prosperity, and well-being. 🌸🕉️💫

🏗️ Currently, the temple is undergoing renovation and spiritual rejuvenation, with full-scale preparations for the much-awaited Kumbabishekam (Consecration Ceremony) scheduled for October 2025. 🔧🛕✨ This renovation is not merely physical, but deeply symbolic – representing the renewal of divine energy and the continuation of a centuries-old tradition of worship and faith. 🙏🌟

🌼 Devotees visiting during this phase can witness the sacred transformation of the temple structure, with skilled artisans working on intricate carvings, sanctum restoration, and vibrant mural paintings that honor the temple’s glorious legacy. 🎨🔨

🔥 The upcoming Kumbabishekam will be a momentous occasion marked by Vedic rituals, homams, abhishekams, and grand spiritual celebrations, expected to draw devotees from across Tamil Nadu and beyond. 📿📯

🌿 Despite the ongoing work, the divine presence of Karumariamman Thayar continues to be felt profoundly in every corner of the temple. Her serene yet powerful gaze offers solace, strength, and healing to all who come with devotion. 🪔🌺

🛕 Whether you're a long-time devotee or a first-time visitor, this temple is a living embodiment of divine motherly love and village tradition. It stands not just as a religious structure, but as the beating heart of Thiruverkadu’s spiritual culture. 💖🏞️

📅 Mark your calendars – October 2025! Let’s all be part of this sacred milestone – the Maha Kumbabishekam, and receive the blessings of Karumariamman Amma for peace, protection, and prosperity. 🙌🌸🌞

I've been going to this temple since childhood. Such a wonderful divine place inside the temple alone. I guess since 2005/6 this place hasn't got changed a bit. After many years, I visited this temple on 26th Aug'23 , we reached the temple around 09.45pm on 22nd Aug'23 and decided to stay in the temple's accommodation itself. We were four(My nephews ,elder sister and me) carrying bed sheets and a few necessary things like a water bottle , Mosquito repellents , dress to change in the morning. The whole place was almost occupied, and we went to the other side of the place where only one ceiling fan was working. Somehow we managed until midnight, but then during 1.30am heavy rain started and water started to enter the accommodation place itself. And we had to rush where there was no water. Also, there is no shelter from accommodation to restrooms, most of the people were drenched in rain to use the toilets.

The toilets were very messy and disgusting, really fed up with the way the toilets were managed inside the temple premises.

And If you're planning to stay in the temple's accommodation , pls avoid it. d Do stay in any nearby hotel and do visit only the temple even in the case of emergency do not enter the toilets inside the temple premises.

There are toilers named as "Free" outside the temple premise nearby "Puthu templ" behind the head tonsuring/ear piercing area. But the local women charge ten rupees from each person including kids. Here the toilets are somewhat better but still locks are broken no hot water facility. Literally this area hasn't been changed even after 15 years, i visited last time in 2005/06 when I was in 5/6th grade in school.

Most importantly the hotels were so good earlier and I couldn't find any of those good hotels for breakfast outside the temple area. I had breakfast at the nearby bus depot it was terrible.

Need a lot of improvement to develop basic amenities inside the temple...

Money.... If you have much. You can visit here without any issues. All the Cross (iykyk) are expecting a toss on their plate. Why? Most of the sin happening here in the temple. Only god knows what they'll have in the afterlife as per their holy books. Point is, Good ancient historical temple. Those who don't know... There's a Shiva temple near from this temple (approx 2 kms) That has 1000s of year old history (as per locals)... Renovation is going on here in this amman temple.

If you want to have a decent saree (Tuesdays only) there's a bidding of sarees offered by the bakhth... Not much cleany one. All the rowdies and frauds are sitting outside and ready to pick pocket in the name of holy offerings (heavy pricy). For your footwear there's a free space allotted. (Don't put in the shopkeeper/rowdies/pickpockets shops.) they may ask extra money to keep an eye on ur foot wears for you... Beggers are everywhere... A bit crowdy place. Nearby snake temple is smelly....

Need peace, money, hygiene? Do your poojas from the heart at your home. Treat your women well... 🙂 Automatically you'll be eligible for...
