Bodimettu is a place at the border of Tamil Nadu. I started my journey from Gap Road Munnar, a winding mountain pass that offers breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and valleys. As you ascend the road, you'll be surrounded by lush green tea plantations, cascading waterfalls, and pristine forests. The air is crisp and fresh, and the silence is broken only by the chirping of birds and the rustling of leaves.
Bodimettu View Point After a scenic drive of about 43 minutes, you'll reach Bodimettu View Point, a popular tourist spot that offers panoramic views of the Idukki Dam and its reservoir. The dam is one of the largest arch dams in India, and the reservoir is home to a variety of aquatic life, including elephants, tigers, and leopards. From the viewpoint, you can also see the surrounding hills and valleys, which are covered in lush green vegetation. The view is especially stunning during sunrise and sunset, when the sky is ablaze with color. Additional Tips The best time to visit Bodimettu View Point is early morning or late evening, when the crowds are smaller and the light is more favorable.

If you’re ever near Theni or heading towards Munnar, Bodi Mettu View Point is a must-stop. The view is absolutely breathtaking — endless rolling hills, lush green valleys, and on a clear day, you can even spot tiny villages nestled between the mountains.
The drive up is scenic, with winding roads and fresh mountain air. There are a few spots along the way where you can pull over for photos, but the actual viewpoint offers a panoramic view that’s hard to beat. It’s peaceful, not too crowded (especially if you go early morning or on a weekday), and perfect for nature lovers or anyone looking to take a break from city life.
There aren’t many shops or facilities around, so it’s a good idea to carry water and snacks. Also, don’t forget your camera — or at least clear up space on your phone. The views are...
