Chathurangappara View Point
Idukki heven of kerala.. Chathurangappara, Another beautiful view point among 100s (a wild guess 😜 ).
If you are planing to trek a heavenly place with your friends or family.. I strictly recommend this place for you.
You can drive a car or bike to this viewpoint.. Bikes that has minim 200 cc can easily climb till end of the viewpoint without pillion.. About cars am not sure.. I visited here with my bike. Roads are lil disgusting but not offroad type.. tar roads are there till the top ..but are broken roads.. So drive carefully especially when you drive two wheelers..
Once you reach the top you can see a hevenly wide view of tamilnadu landscape and farm field.. It may look like small boxes from the top. Best time to visit this viewpoint is at the early mornings.. Till 8 Am you can feel the cool wind and see floating clouds nearby .. (based on climate ).
There are 3 or more view points there at the first entrance or we can say first viewpoint you can find a tree house as well one small shop with pay and use toilet and room facility is there.
There is noo food or water facility there. You must carry water and some foods because once you reach the top you might be hungry. Carry some energy drinks as well coz you may feel lil tiered after climbing and walking through the hill top. (i felt tiered thats y i am suggesting after all its personal choice😊)
There is noo such fixed parking facility but areas are there to park bike and car.
Nothing like entry fee or anything.you can carry cameras and bring as many persons you can.
Apart from the top hill view you can enjoy the closer looks of a windmill as well.. There are lot of windmills there on top of chathuramgappara.
Mainly you can visit chathurangappara to enjoy climate. And ride to the hilltop is also memorable. Photography lovers may get good photos of hills and wild flowers and...
Read moreThis place is located on the western Ghats east of Chathurangapara at about 7 km from Udumbanchola and 3 km Chathurangappara on the Munnar Kumily Road. Its 15 km from pooppara in the north and 19 km from Nedumkandam in the south. It's a rocky mountain in Tamil Nadu where there are about 7 wind mills are in operation which generate electricity from wind. Some turbines make a strong noise during operation. The sound is not disturbing though. Part of the western cliff is destructed by granite mining. There's a quarry still in operation.
A lot of people choose this place to spend time and for trekking. Many people arrive by motor bikes cars and off road vehicles. It's generally a calm place. The road to the mountain top is damaged at places so that even off road vehicles find it difficult to reach. Some local tour operators dare to drive to the top in off road vehicles locally called 'jeep'. It is generally not a crowded place except in the summer during school vacation.
When we went there, we parked at the foot hills and walked all the way up to the top and rested, saw around and returned. The view of low lying Tamil Nadu on the west is amazingly beautiful. During winter the visibility is affected but still enjoyable due to the cold weather.
Our visit at Christmas was a wonderful experience and hope to go...
Read moreChathurangapara is actually near to the Tamil Nadu border. It's relatively near from muvattupuzha. There's a lot of wind mills. Once a visit to this place is nice. The place is also called kattadipadam due to the many number of wind mills. Trekking is super here. Nice weather if you visit in this time. Cool and warm mix climate. Nice view to the Tamilnadu from the top of the hill. Difficult to drive car to the top of the hill, however car can be park in the middle of the height Windmill on top and border of Tamil Nadu and Kerala
First experience of touching the base of a windmill and hearing the sound of the turbine mounted on a hill top. The drive is nearly upto the top and then one needs to walk a 30deg climb for say 200m and then we see Tamil Nadu villages deep down below and also some other windmill turbines far away in then plane.
Western Ghats separate the two states in fact the windmill is on Tamil Nadu land instead of Kerala. Good Photo shoot , picnic and fresh air view and any hill top is a always full of wind, so enjoy nature Ima green environment surrounded by hills , windmills and deep down planes.
I am sure there are trekking routes here but...
