A good weekend getaway for those who are in and around Chennai. Largest lake in Chennai providing drinking water to Chennai. Best time to visit this lake is during December right after the monsoon. It's a treat to eyes to watch the lake filled up to the brim. Lake is so large that when filled up to the brim, you would only see water till the horizon. Access to the lake is restricted by gates, but there are certain paths through which you can bypass the locked gates if you are coming here by bicycle or motorbike. Roads on top of the lake is quite rough and not proper, but this isn't a bothering factor. Enquire with locals to know how to reach the top. Pumping station tower can be easily accessed via the road through...

Chembarambakkam Lake is located about 20 kilometres from Chennai City. The best place to view sunrise and sunset. This place is not usually crowded.It would be really great if this place was maintained properly.

Very quiet in the morning with a chill climate suitable for walking and cycling. Avoid during the hot sun as there are no shades on top area. No shops are nearby to purchase any items. It's important to visit during the day time for safety. The view point building was closed when we visited. You can come by the outer ring road, which has smooth roads. The view of the lake is breathtaking and a must-visit spot in Chennai. Kindly enquire with the people in that area nearby...

Excellent Place for Evening Getaway. Pleasant Breeze. Villagers sell Fish. Road on the Lake Bund is Good.

This Place has got High potential for becoming a Evening Big Spot. A Small Restaurant can be located in the View Point Building which is big enough to accommodate a Restaurant. Even Govt Fisheries Department can run a Small Stall at this Venue.

A Small Children's Park or Amusement Park can be developed. There are so much of scope for turning this Place into an Attractive Evening Spot like Hussain Sagar at Hyderabad.

It is So Sad that Government allows a Place with high tourism potential lying waste. But that requires a little bit of imagination and...
