What a devine vibe. Temple is situated inside the forest and it is not possible to reach by our own vehicle unless we have pass in advance. They provide transportation services through Pickup Truck from Entrance to the Temple and they charge ₹40 per person as of sep 2025. As per the information the temple will be opened only on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and New Moon days. There will be tamilnadu and keralas checkpost there. We are allowed to take bath in the nearby river and i would say don't miss that chance. Take a set of cloths extra if you are planning to visit that temple. It is superb to visit the temple in monsoon or after the monsoon so that you won't miss the feel of bathing in that river. I hope this will be helpful to you. And don't worry about the food you will get on the Temple itself. Not 5 star hotels but we can get foods. And once you enter Forest check post your signals will be cut down and you can't make any calls even BSNL didn't work there. And the route to that temple is bit tricky and hatchbacks and sedans will feel that pain. If you have some good suvs and cars with good ground clearance will...
Read moreA good place to visit with family. This place is only open for 3 days (Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday). You can park your vehicles at the foothill. Own vehicles are not allowed to reach the place, you can make use of the tempo services to reach the place, which costs Rs.40 for up and down per person. There are local shops on top of hill where you can buy some food items. The temple is an open air, serene place.
And the HIGHLIGHT of the place is the Chinnar river, which is below the temple..you have to trek for some 1 or 2kms to reach the best water area, for swimming and diving. Take care of the kids as there are stones underwater. The water is clean and chill even at summer. Overall a best place for 1 day trip.
NOTE: Plan everything beforehand, as there is no mobile signal once you cross the checkpost. And entry timing is...

Kattalai Mariamman Temple is in Anaimalai Tiger Reserve area. This is situated 32 kms from Udumalaipet and 101 km from Coimbatore. We need to stop at Chinnar checkpost and park the vehicles opposite side of the temple entrance. Need to pay Rs.50 for cars. Then take Rs.40 ticket for getting in a bolero pickup vehicle. Once required number of people are there, they will start the vehicle. It will be 15 minutes off road ride. The way to the temple is beautiful. Senior people may avoid this trip, if they cannot go in a pickup van. Upon reaching the spot, you can go to the river side and take bath. On the way there will be lots of small shops selling produces from the hills. After taking a refreshing chill water bath, you can go the Kattalai Mariamman temple and worship the suymabu Amman. Also get worshipped milk and take to the home. After worshipping Kattalai Mariamman, walk further half km or so to visit Sappili Amman temple, sister of Kattalai Mariamman. Many people will miss this temple. There will be poojari and we can peacefully pray there. After worship, again come to Kattalai Mariamman temple and wait for the Bolero pick up and go back to chinar check post. Temple is open only on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. No moon days also it is open. Crowd will be there on No moon days. Many people from Kerala and Karnataka will also visit here. If you make a wish and visit here and pray the Amman for three no moon days, then your wish is fulfilled by the Amman. This is highly believed by the hill people. Overall this place is a fantastic one day trip for families and bachelors and for...
