The Maravakandy Dam is part of a hrdroelectric project and is about 15 KMS from Masinagudi. The Safari to the catchment area is quiet exciting since we may spot wild animals any moment. Not always you will be lucky but during my safaris I have seen herds of deers, elephants apart from monkeys, peacocks and bisons. The catchment area up to which we are allowed to go is beautiful, we will feel like staying overnight with a camp fire but it is not permitted.
