Pavalamalai Muthukumaraswamy Temple
This hill top temple dedicated to Lord Murugan is located at Pavalamalai a small hillock at Gobichettipalayam in Tamilnadu about 3 km fro the town.
It can be approached by way of trekking up about 200 steps or by a vehicle via a road that takes one till the courtyard of the temple.
One can get good views of the town of Gobichettipalayam. It is better to visit early mornings or late evenings to avoid the sun and also since the temple is closed during the day time.
The temple has traditional Tamil temple architecture with colourful gopuram studded with stuccos featuring mythological figures. There is a flag post with interesting carvings at its base.
It has a peaceful atmosphere as visitors and only few on most days. One can relax and meditate here.
At the base of the hill is also a shrine dedicated to Lord Murugan.
Parking is available at the hill top.
