It's really nice place to see a beautiful natural place but before visit u have to check with near by area people because only session time only water will be there u can get some fruits from direct from kollimali forms its really tasty

Disadvantages Most of the tourist start polluted that place because they throw plastic more in the river government need to give some action for that also there is no dustbin anywhere in the place

Not safety in evening time no lights also lot's of people came for drinking over there. No neatness, not had any separate place for women rest room incase of emergency. We have to take care of our own properties, lot's of money are there to make fear for children.

If you plan to go with group of people means u can enjoy also there u can enjoy only raining season time only that place suite to see else you will get disappointed

Also request people who are all went there for drinking please try to avoid some of them breaking the bottle there it self it's not fare my request

Thanks you it's our responsibility to keep nature as natural not...

Nice spot to visit with Family. Kids will really enjoy. Water was cold and depth varies from spot to spot. Place was clean.

10 years back, the place was spoiled with alcohol bottles and plastic wastes. Even under Water you can find broken glasses. Each and every spot you can find a drinking group.

Now Forest Officers are checking everything at the Entrance. Food and Alcohol are not allowed inside. They are just collecting Rs. 10 per head as entrance fee. Car Parking fee Rs. 50.

We just took Dresses and Water Bottles in a bag and kept the Food in the Car itself. Those who love trekking can go to top and explore many spots on their way for chilling in the Water.

We chose a spot after 20 minutes of trekking. Enjoyed for around 2 hours. As the stones are slippery, extra care should be taken for Kids.

Don't carry bags in Hands. Take a back pack and free your arms for balancing. Check for the Water flow before visiting the Place.

Puliancholai is now, really a clean and safe place after the Forest Check Post. Thanks to the Forest Department...

PULIYANCHOLAI TOURIST CENTRE On the foot hills of kollimalai ,a place of scenic beauty is the puliyancholai ,72 kms away from Tiruchirappalli via Thuraiyur filled with full of greenish trees and tamarind groves .This forest region is cool and green with added attraction of the stream. The stream is the natural bathing area for the tourists throughout the year. There is a water falls in the higher hills which is called Akaya Gangai, Besides ,the water here has medicinal value .The 18 th day of the Tamil month Adi is the time for worshipping the river here and more people visit Puliyancholai that day . Accommodation of two resorts and one Dormitory Building are available here. Puliyancholai to Agasa Gangai Falls(Hill top)is five hours hard Trek. One can have fantastic views of Million years old curved rocks, Dolmens, Pithukkuli Cave, different shaped big stones, forest produces on the way and at the Top plain - Honey, Guava, Orange, Mustard, Fenugreek, Garlic, Paddy, Maze,...

Leafy, breezy, and refreshingly low-key. Set at the foothills of the Kolli range, Puliyancholai is more about clear streams, boulders, and dappled shade than a single “big” waterfall. Pack a picnic, slip off your shoes, and let the cold water run over your feet—simple joys done right. On weekdays it can feel like your own private creek. Highlights: shallow natural pools for toe-dipping, plenty of tree cover, and a relaxed family vibe. Local tea/bhajji stalls add to the charm without turning it into a carnival. Heads-up: rocks get slick—good grip footwear is a must. Monkeys hover near snacks; keep food sealed. Facilities are basic (toilets/changing are minimal), and there’s usually no lifeguard—avoid deep spots and strong currents after rains. Carry back your plastic. Best time: early morning or late afternoon for softer light and fewer crowds. Post-monsoon gives the nicest flow without muddy water.

Another under rated place which is about 70km (1hr 40 mins drive) from Trichy. This is a river flowing over a rock bed along the foot of the kolli hills. You can, albeit very carefully dwell into the river and take a dip, except at the places earmarked with danger signs. The surroundings are covered in green trees and there are some local people selling locally grown fruits and freshly caught fish and crab. The drive to the place is through villages and the views are absolutely beautiful. However what I didn't like is the up keeping of the surroundings, mostly because of irresponsible tourists. There was not even a dustbin to be seen anywhere. Plastic bottles and cups strewn everywhere, even with the limited number of visitors, have already started to take a toll on this pristine place. High time that the reserve forest people do something about the maintenance of the surroundings.
