Not grand but graceful ❣️ It's not a tall waterfall. In fact it's only about three to four feet above your head. But still, it gives you a refreshing and rejuvenating experience 😃 You would have to park your vehicles near the entrance and then board a van they operate to and fro to get to the falls. The falls is 10 minutes away from the entrance. They are strict about not allowing you to carry any forms of plastic. They check your bags and clothing before you board the van to ascertain that you are not carrying any plastic or other things that may cause fire. They do have a manageable restroom where you can change your clothes. You ll have to be careful about keeping your belongings safe from monkeys. They run to you and try to snatch your things while you open your bags 😂 You do have paid lockers I guess near the waterfall if you want to keep things safe in general. Other than locker room. There is a shady structure where you can put your bags and footwear. It's near the waterfall. So you can keep an eye on your valuables now and then. I ve never had anything stolen so far though. Try to go on non-special weekdays. The place gets really crowded and awkward on holidays and weekends. You won't even get a place to stand under the waterfall easily. If at all you have to go on such days, go early (like 8:30 am) and the crowd would be moderate. Bonus fact : Water from Siruvani is supposed to be the world's second tastiest water. The Siruvani dam, Poondi vellingiri temple and Isha yoga are some other places near Siruvani falls that you can visit before going home Pro tip : Look up on the internet for their telephone number and call them before you go there to ensure that the falls is open on the day you visit. Some days it may be closed due to floods. But recently their phone numbers don't work at all. Have a wonderful time there ❤️

siruvani waterfalls situvated at a distance of 36 km from Coimbatore, and 50 km from Palakkad, It is a scenic waterfall situated in the Siruvani Hills of Tamil Nadu. Siruvani is the one of the popular waterfalls in Tamilnadu, and among the must-visit places during your Coimbatore trip. Also called Kovai Kutralam Falls, the Siruvani Fall is formed by the Siruvani river. The reservoir at Siruvani was built for Tamil Nadu by the Kerala Government with funds collected by the Tamil Nadu government to meet the drinking water requirements of Coimbatore city. The water of the Dam is famous for its sweetness and it is typically known to be the second sweetest lake water in the world. It is one of the major tourist places in Coimbatore. The visitors are not allowed to see the falls after 5 pm as it is located in the center part of a dense forest. With an outstanding panoramic view, the Siruvani dam is extremely beautiful and breathe taking. Tourists cannot make their visit to this falls anytime because only a few numbers of buses are available to visit the place. Sadivayal Checkpost, where an entry fee Rs. 50 is charged, is at the gateway to the waterfalls. Private vehicles are not allowed beyond this point. However, vehicles arranged by the forest department can be used for the conveyance to the point where the trek is to be started. No extra charges for this service. An almost 1 km trek-walk through the forest is required to reach the exact place for bathing.

The government gave the approval for construction of the `masonry gravity' dam in February 1915; work did not start immediately; if one correlates the information from the Archeology Department, Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage (TWAD) Board and the district gazette. The villagers of Boluvampatti and Alandurai opposed the scheme, as they feared it would affect them. But they were convinced about the benefits of bringing Siruvani water to a town that was growing. The construction of the dam began in 1927. Siruvani site is located in an extremely unfriendly terrain and wild animals frequented the place. So, all those engaged in construction work stayed in the guest house near Iruttu pallam. They rode to the dam site on horses with gunmen providing security. Even today,a visit to the Siruvani dam is not much different (except that one doesn't have to travel on a horse). Forest guards continue to accompany those who visit the dam. The initial cost of construction was Rs. 2,17,725 (for 23 feet). The reason for selecting the site was that it had perennial streams. The area below the Siruvani, Muthikulam falls, Gobiyaru, Solaiyaru, Pattiyaru, Veeraru and Paambaru falls, the main sources of supply were identified for construction.

We were there on a weekend for a function at Sadivayal, a few kms away from the falls, we made it here, as it was close by. Lucky coincidence. The whole walk, and ride from the check post/ticket counter, to the falls proper was a thrill, wonderful scenes, through timber trees, continuous sounds of insects, and distant water falls and flow. The look from the view tower on the way, was bright and clear of the foothills, to distant mountain range, with its tree cover. The falls was visible from a distance with the sounds of it's torrential flow down. We crossed the stream on the bridge and walked down the meandering steps to the bathing ghats. It was safe, with built up sides, and barricades and space for changing garments. The natural fall was masoned to help the bathers have an organised bath. Safe, secure and wonderful for a family trek, or for students, with ritualistic checking for arms and whatever, at the check points. P. S. The only place I know where everyone gets to ride the public transport, inspite of their status.

Siruvani waterfall is a beautiful natural wonder that offers a serene and peaceful environment to visitors. The waterfall's location in the midst of dense forests adds to its charm, making it a perfect spot for nature lovers and adventure seekers. The sound of the rushing water and the lush greenery around the area are truly mesmerizing and can transport you to another world. However, the waterfall's popularity has led to overcrowding in recent years, which can detract from the overall experience. The area can become quite crowded during peak season, making it difficult to find a peaceful spot to enjoy the waterfall. Additionally, the maintenance of the area leaves something to be desired, with littering and trash being a common sight. Overall, while Siruvani waterfall is a beautiful location with much to offer, visitors should be aware of the potential for overcrowding and the need for better maintenance. It is still worth a visit for those looking to connect with nature and experience the beauty of this natural wonder.

The water here is known as the sweetest water in the world. I went to this place on weekend, so it was pretty crowded. Firstly we have to take a ticket to enter into the parking space. There we can park our vehicle and we have to stand in line to get into the bus. The parking area is full of monkeys, dogs and cows. The monkeys will roam around, so people who leave their belongings in the car make sure that the doors a properly closed. The bus will arrive after a 20 min long wait and it will lead us to the trekking spot. The bus journey is of 5 to 10 mins, covering an area of almost 1 km. We can see beautiful sights on the way. After reaching the trekking spot we have to walk a distance of almost 1 km to reach the main waterfall. On the way, there is a view point from where we get a sight of the whole mountain range. The water fall is a sight to see and we can enjoy in the small ponds down there.
