மேல்மலையனூர் அருள்மிகு அங்காள பரமேஸ்வரி அம்மன் ஆலயம் விழுப்புரம் மாவட்டம், செஞ்சி நகரிலிருந்து சுமார் 20 கி.மீ தொலைவில்; திருவண்ணாமலையில் இருந்து 38 கி.மீ தொலைவிலும் அமைந்துள்ளது மேல்மலையனூர் அருள்மிகு அங்காள பரமேஸ்வரி அம்மன் ஆலயம். மேல் மலையனூர் மகிமைகள்: இவ்வூரில் கோயில் கொண்டிருக்கும் அங்காள பரமேஸ்வரி அம்மன் புற்று மண்ணால் சுயம்புவாக உருவானவள். நான்கு திருக்கரங்களுடன், இடக் காலை மடித்து, வலக் காலைத் தொங்கவிட்டபடி, பிரம்ம கபாலத்தை மிதித்தபடி, வடக்கு நோக்கி அருள்காட்சி தருகிறாள். அம்மனுக்கு அருகிலேயே மிகப் பெரிய புற்றும் காணப்படுகிறது. புற்று வடிவில் தோன்றியதால், அம்மனுக்கு ‘புற்று தேவி’ என்றும் பெயர். தண்டேஸ்வரி என்ற திருப்பெயரும் உண்டு. கோயிலுக்குத் தெற்கே பெரிய உருவமாக ‘பெரியாயி’ மல்லாந்து படுத்த நிலையில் அருள்கிறாள். பெரியாயியை வழிபடும் பக்தர்களைத் தீய சக்திகள் அண்டாது. கோயிலுக்குள் இருக்கும் இரட்டை விநாயகர்கள் மற்றும் இந்த 108 விநாயகர்களைத் தரிசித்தால் வாழ்வில் நன்மை உண்டாகும். கோயிலில் தல விருட்சமாக வில்வ மரம் திகழ்கிறது. மாசி மாதம் அமாவாசையன்று மேல்மலையனூர் மயானத்தில் நடைபெறும் ‘மயானக் கொள்ளை’ திருவிழா பிரசித்திபெற்றது. அம்மன் அருளால் வேண்டுதல் நிறைவேறிய பக்தர்கள், நன்றிக்கடனாக காய்- கனிகள், கீரைகள் எனப் பலவைப் பொருள்களை வீசியெறிந்து சூறையிடுவார்கள். இந்த வைபவத்துக்கு வரும் பக்தர்கள், மயானச் சாம்பலை எடுத்துச் சென்று, தமது வீடுகளில் ஒரு துணிமுடிச்சில் கட்டித் தொங்கவிடுவார்கள். இதனால் தீய சக்திகள் விலகும் என்பது நம்பிக்கை. மாசித் திருவிழாவின்போது நள்ளிரவு நேரத்தில் சாமியாடிகள் சொல்லும் அருள்வாக்கு அப்படியே பலிக்குமாம். பிரம்மனின் தலையைக் கொய்ததால் சிவனாருக்கு ஏற்பட்ட பிரம்மஹத்தி தோஷம் நீங்கும் பொருட்டு, அவருடைய கையில் ஒட்டியிருந்த கபாலத்தை அங்காளம்மன் அழித்தது இந்தச் சுடுகாட்டில்தான் என்கிறது தலபுராணம். இதையொட்டியே மயானக் கொள்ளை திருவிழா நடைபெறுகிறது என்கிறார்கள். கபாலத்தை அழித்த பிறகும், அங்காளம்மனின் கோபம் தணியவில்லையாம். அவளது கோபத்தைத் தணிக்க தேர்த்திருவிழா நடத்தப்பட்டது. அந்தத் தேருக்கு தேவர்களும் முனிவர்களும் சக்கரமாகவும், அச்சாணியாகவும் மாறினார்களாம். அங்காள பரமேஸ்வரி அந்தத் தேரில் ஏறி வலம் வந்து சினம் தணிந்தாள். தேரோட்டம் முடிந்ததும் தேவர்களும் முனிவர்களும் தேரை விட்டு அகன்று சுயரூபம் பெற்று மறைந்தனர். இந்த ஐதீகத்தின்படி, ஒவ்வொரு வருடமும் தேரோட்டம் முடிந்ததும் அந்தத் தேரைப் பிரித்துவிடுகிறார்கள். இறந்த ஆன்மாக்களுக்கு அங்காள பரமேஸ்வரி அம்மன் உணவளிக்கும் விழா இது என்றும் சொல்லப்படுகிறது. இந்தக் கோயிலில், பூஜை நடைபெறும்போது புற்று மண்ணைத் தண்ணீரில் கலந்து பக்தர் களுக்குக் கொடுக்கிறார்கள். இந்தத் தீர்த்தத்தை அருந்தினால் புத்திர பாக்கியம் கிடைக்கும், நோய்கள் விலகும் என்பது நம்பிக்கை. தொடர்ந்து மூன்று அமாவாசை தினங்கள் மேல்மலையனூர் கோயிலுக்குச் சென்று, ‘ஊஞ்சல் உற்சவம்’ விழாவைக் கண்டால் குழந்தைப் பேறு, திருமணப் பேறு உள்ளிட்ட அனைத்துவிதமான பேறுகளும் கிடைக்கும் என்கிறார்கள் பக்தர்கள். மேல் மலையனூர் மகிமைகள்! அமாவாசை தினத்தில் நாள் முழுவதும் கோயில் திறந்தே இருக்கும். தீய சக்திகளை விரட்டுவதற்கு மிகச் சிறந்த பரிகாரத் தலமாக விளங்குகிறது மேல்மலையனூர். ஆடி வெள்ளிக்கிழமைகள், நவராத்திரி, கார்த்திகை தீபம், தைப் பொங்கல், மாசி தேர்த் திருவிழா ஆகியவை மேல்மலையனூரில் கொண்டாடப்படும் முக்கியத் திருவிழாக்களாகும். இந்தத் திருவிழா காலங்களில் அம்மனைத் தரிசித்தால் ராகு - கேது தோஷங்கள் விலகும் என்பது நம்பிக்கை. அங்காள பரமேஸ்வரிக்கு எலுமிச்சம்பழ மாலை சாத்தி வழிபட்டால், அம்மன் மனம் குளிர்ந்து நம்மை ஆசீர்வதிப்பாள். அம்மனுக்கு அபிஷேகம் செய்து, வஸ்திரம் அணிவித்து நேர்த்திக்கடன் செலுத்தினால் கணவனைப் பிரிந்திருக்கும் மனைவி, கணவனால் துன்புறுத்தப் படும் பெண்கள் ஆகியோரின் பிரச்னைகள் நீங்கும்; தம்பதி ஒற்றுமை மேலோங்கும் என்பது பக்தர்களின் அசைக்கமுடியாத நம்பிக்கையாகும். சித்தம் கலங்கியவர்கள் மற்றும் மன நலம் பாதிக்கப்பட்டவர்களை மலையனூருக்கு அழைத்துச் சென்றால், விரைவில் அவர்களின் மனநோய் குணமாகும் என்கிறார்கள், பக்தர்கள். பிரம்ம கபாலத்தை அழித்தபிறகு, அங்காள பரமேஸ்வரி திருவண்ணாமலைக்குச் சென்று, தீர்த்தத்தில் மூழ்கி சாப விமோசனம் பெற்றாள் என்றும் கூறுகிறார்கள். ஆகவே, திருவண்ணாமலை சென்று அண்ணாமலையாரை வழிபட்டு விட்டு, மேல்மலையனூருக்கு வந்து அங்காள பரமேஸ்வரியை வழிபட்டால் அனைத்து நன்மை களும் உண்டாகும். மேல்மலையனூர் திருத்தலத்தில், மகா சிவராத்திரியிலிருந்து 13 நாள்கள் மாசிப் பெருந் திருவிழா கோலாகலமாக கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.

This shrine is dedicated to goddess Angala Parameshwari Amman in Melmalayanur, Villupuram district. Lord shiva's brahma hathi dosham was cured by the goddess at this temple. Goddess manifested here in the form of puthu. Angalamman and Thandeshwarar(in idol form) are in the same sanctum. Very Powerful temple. No evil energies can withstand the high positive vibrations here; they are immediately warded off. Our karma is significantly cleared to a great extent when set foot in this temple. Very Powerful Goddess , known for her boundless compassion, showering loads and loads of blessings upon all who seek her guidance. New moon days(amavasai) are considered auspicious and lakhs of devotees come on that day to seek her grace and see the swing festival(unjal urchavam) which occurs at midnight. In normal days , bus frequency is low for the temple, But on New moon days there are lot of special buses available from many places. Great Sannu Maha Munivar's jeevasamadhi, called as Pei Medai infront of puthu, wards off all evil spirits and mental disroders. Mayana kollai is the major festival which occurs on Masi Amavasai (during February-March). A must-visit place for those seeking spiritual growth.

Sri Angala Parameswari Temple is one of the well know temple in Bangalore and Tamil Nadu. This was my first visit to saw the Amman. We took bus from Banglore to Thiruvannamalai and from there to Melemalayanoor. If you are from Bangalore, avoid ordinary buses and take super fast flyover service bus for saving time. Ordinary buses will take around 7 hours to Thiruvannamalai. From there you will lots of buses and ticket charge is only ₹20. “Ammavasi” and “Pournami” Full moon days are special and trust me she is very powerful God and plenty of people are coming in those days because of special poojas. In temple location we won’t get any medical or lodging facilities. Avoid to take kids on those days and won’t carry any valuable stuffs especially ornaments. Actual temple is small but the complex is big and spacious. Devotes offers lemon to Amma and front side streets of temple is full of broken lemon and mud mixed in lemon juice. Instead of wasting these much lemons I Request some of the NGOs should take ownership to implement some sort of mechanism to collect lemon juice and distribute to those poor patients in near hospitals.

I visited this temple on April 7, 2024. The temple is conveniently located near the bus stand. However, if you arrive with a vehicle such as a car, minibus, Tata Ace, or any other four-wheeler, they will charge an entry fee of 50 to 100₹. Unfortunately, they do not provide parking facilities and not issue a bill for the fee.

Parking becomes a significant issue during weekends when private parking lots charge exorbitant fees ranging from 500 to 800₹.

Another issue is with the practice of tonsuring. Many smugglers blend in with the crowd and persuade devotees to tonsure their heads, selling the hair for prices ranging from 2000₹ to 4000₹. Additionally, they charge 10₹ for bathroom access. The area where tonsuring takes place inside the temple is overcrowded, but it is a must if you wish to participate.

If you bring offerings like a rooster or goat, they charge 100₹ and 200₹ respectively just for the cutting. An extra 100₹ is demanded for cleaning the chicken.

While free darshan may take 3 to 4 hours, paying 300₹ per person ensures a quick glimpse of the deity within 10 minutes. It seems money talks louder than devotion.

For performing archana, the temple staff demands 200₹, but they may refuse if you offer less. Even a single lemon can cost between 10 and 50₹.

Facilities like stoves and bathrooms are notably lacking, and the cost of a bundle of stove sticks is 50₹.

It appears that there may be significant corruption involving the temple staff and the Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments Department.

It's disheartening to see spirituality mixed with commercialism. We hope for better administration and reverence for the sacredness of religious practices at places like Melmalayanur Angalamman Temple.

Worst fact is they are collecting 100 Rs while entering the township and giving fake bills named Cunga Vari (Custom tax). Full of drunken monkey Gundas.

Once you reach temple, parking person will collect another 100 Rs. The place where hygienic got cruelly killed. Better if you have cold but if your smelling sense works good, sorry.

External people vehicle won't be allowed before 500 meters of temple, we need to walk and surprisingly you will see Indian Dominic Toretto's riding share autos. They won't care about rules , humans , police etc.,

Once you reach temple, real cinema starts. Peoples with plastic covers with lemon and starts rotating their hands and ask has to crush it with our foot, if you do that, that's it , not your sins , just money from your pocket. Pls ignore those peoples.

Now, things starts inside of temple. Photo sharing: Some people will start to give godess photo with smile. How beautiful right! Then same will happen like before, but we can ignore those. No issue.

And each and evrything will be money , money , money.

This things are very hard to see because people are coming to temple to praise the God and share their feelings and get some positive vibe. But it will never happen with this temple just because of management and people around the temple.

Just a suggestion and also a humble request , pls take your family to some other place and spend time with them and spend money for them , if possible spend for...
