This statue of Lord Murugan seems to be the tallest than the Malaysia Murugan by 6 feet. This is 146 feet. It is so tall that the statue can be seen from the Salem Chennai Highway.

The temple's main entrance is still under construction. The temple seems to be the enthusiast of Muthumalai Murugan Trust. Tiruvarur Thiagarajan, the same sculptor who made possible the Murugan murti at Batu Caves, sculpted the colossal murti of Subramanian.

There are many shops while you enter the temple. Right below the tallest Murugan statue is the temple's moola stanam and surrounding it is the arupadai Murugan statues on its wall. The idol in the moola stanam was decorated beautifully and was a treat to the eyes. However the tallest Murugan statue could still have been made better.

Pay ₹150 and take the lift to the top where you can reach the level of Murugan's face and have a closer look. The eyes of the statue are beautiful. There is a small Vel, spear within the large spear. It is said that this spear has performed pujai rituals at all the 6 sacred houses of Murugan. One can do abhishekam to this spear by paying ₹100 more. From the top you can also see the far mountain in which Murugan is facing to be in the shape of Murugan himself in sleeping position. This was amazing and astonishing. After you come down you can directly go to visit the Moolavar and go around the moolavar too. They give 1 photo of Murugan, and a vibhooti pack. You don't get these opportunities if you don't buy the ₹150 or ₹250 ticket.

Behind this tallest statue is a small hillock and at the top of it is the original Murugan temple of Muthumalai. It is a small temple again and there are a couple shops selling small idols, sacred threads, bracelets and so on. The path to the top is rocky, stoney and muddy and doesn't have proper steps. The view from the top is amazing.

They charge ₹50 for car parking and they collect it at the entrance from the highway. There is plenty of car parking space. They charge ₹5 per pair...

Dated-29/10/2022 I was very much excited to visit this place to see a 146 feet lord Murugan statue especially in tamilnadu as I saw highest murugan statue located in Malaysia on tv only. It is exactly located at village called yethappur near attur in Salem district.we can see the statue from highways road itself. But to worship you get closer to the statue. There is huge parking space for both two, four wheeler and even bus too. From the main road to near the temple there were lots of shops to buy things and foods to eat. Entry restrictions over there for both men and women at gate with big holding. And we need to keep our sandals outside near the gate. The statue looks so elegant and vibrant with a mountain in backside. if you get closer to lord murugan statue and you need complete fully without coming out from not worship. The place is very clean and neat with water facility available for devotees. There is no money bank for the devotees to donate but they mention a bank account so you transfer you amount and you can get receipt. Inside the gate both the side surrounded with Pooja things for buying to worship and more shops to buy photo, panjamirtham, and other Pooja items for your home too. There is big sheded place available for devotees to take rest even in hot sun and rain. Devotees can do panneer abiseagam to lord Murugan statue through a lift which is built near the statue. Thank you hope you will have good atmosphere when...
