Tamilnadu Tourism Raindrop boat house, mudaliarkuppam — Attraction in Tamil Nadu

We went to the Tamilnadu tourism Raindrop boat house with family and friends and had a great time.

Once you buy tickets they take you in the boat to a island kind of beach which is very private and come and pick you back after few hours.

We went in a eight seater boat, the boat ride was so good, we had a pleasant climate when we visited so it was more fun. We can see aquatic birds, fishes jumping in the water , jelly fish, red crabs on the way to the island beach.

The boat drivers will ask additional money to take you to some extra distance where you can see small red crabs and drop you in the island beach.

The island beach was so good, so clean well maintained. They have some shades where we can sit and enjoy. We saw lots of butterflies in the island beach. The beach was beautiful and we spent lot of time in the water. No crowd there, at a time there were 3 families including us ,so it feels all the beach is ours. Kids hadthe most fun in the beach .

We can carry water and food . We can also order veg and non veg meals for additional price. We ordered food both veg and non veg meals were good, For non veg meals they give fish kulambu / gravy and fish fry.

Note - there is no washroom or changing rooms on the island . There is washroom,showeroom once you go back to the starting place. Make sure to visit when the weather is good..

Overall we had a very good time there, the place is suitable for just spending calm time away from the city just listening to the waves sound enjoying the beautiful ocean or can have games and fun with friends gang and take...

The person who sailed the boat was kind to explain everything about the place.

Here's what he said and I wish everyone have an experience there.

Boat Pilot: It's actually back waters where the local river connects with the sea. This occurs during the current season and post monsoon the water levels would increase so much that we will not be able to see the waters joining the sea.

We took a normal boat to a small island-like place. As per the captain, a particular scene was shot in the island here. The filming crew stayed there for weeks to take some shots there.

We took the full way where the captain takes us into the waters and stops at a part which is like an island where the river water mixes with the sea water.

The place looks great and we can definitely have scenic pictures there or be one with the nature being calm without phones. Must try!!!

Cleanliness

I was so lucky to see clean water and I did not find not even one plastic in the area. The least what we can do is not make it untidy for the people visiting the place.

Banana boat

I saw people sitting on the boat and it's pulled by another boat and the banana boat rolls giving an adventurous experience to people sitting over it.

Jet ski

We can try the Jet ski but the expert will be joining...

It was a peaceful and relaxed experience... from chennai this place is approx 70 kms on the way to pondicherry and on ecr road, it's a backwater area and the boat house parallel on a lake nearby, such a serene location and pleasant backdrop, very natural surrounding... no rush like in muttukadu or paradise boat houses... very nominal fee... they have all the options of paddle, motor, row, kayak, banana ride and the fares are such an average price that there's a ride for everyone.... ppl who love kayak can sure try since it has vast region to cover and it's charged 400 for an hour.... there's also an one hour motor ride where they drop you at a sand dune in the middle of the lake and they'll pick you after an hour... very neatly maintained rest rooms, parking available but only can accomodate a bunch of cars, but you can find spots nearby.... has a bakery like shop and coffee, tea spot... there's a CAFE COFFEE DAY within 2kms from this boathouse just for your info... they provide life jackets and this facility of boats and accessories are all well maintained in compare to the other boat houses and even in a weekend it has a tolerable crowd since it's in the midpoint to chennai and pondy... ppl who are ready to press that extra mile for the leisure time can try.. a must not miss spot for activity seekers and who want a less crowded place.... have a...
